Any Sony product has to be better than a no-name pos. That is what I was stating nebster. I wouldn't buy a Sony product if hell froze over.

i know i am probably getting annoying but i think i might have a change in heart. I do want hard hitting bass but i really dont have that much money just to drob like 600 into a complete setup. anyone got a setup that cost them less and still hits real hard. They dont have to be the greatest quality subs and amp and stuff but i dont want them to sound like complete crap either. The reason y i had the change was after pricing out a 10" cvx in box wired at 2 ohms with a hifonics 1200 w brutus amp amp the rca adapter and a stinger wiring kit for up to 1400 w i was up to 570 bucks! i think thats pretty expensive. tell me if i am wrong and if i woul dbe a fool not to get that though. i guess if that setup is really good i will just save up a little.

That's very good for a complete set-up. Save up!

i just want someone to confirm that that setup is gonna kick a*s in my tc. It is a Kicker 10" cvx sub in a kicker ported box, a hifonics 1200w amp that at 2 ohms(which is the impedence of the sub)is 900w rms, and a stinger wiring kit that handles 1400w all for 570 brand new. will this set up really rock my tc with like big bass and pretty good quality?

Many people can testify to Kicker's sound quality much better than I can, as I haven't owned any of their products, just given them a run for their money a few times in the Circuit City speaker room. But in my general observation, I found that they bumped very well, but didn't have exceptional sound quality. However I wouldn't let it bother you, as for the price you're paying, there's very little room to improve. It is a good deal, and with 900 watts RMS, any speaker that can handle that is going to be thumping! Actually, can that 10" handle 900?

it is 600w rms 1200w peak so its a little bit overpowered but i dont think its to much to hurt it or break it unless i really crank it and push it to the limit. correct me if im wrong

I think you could get a better setup for that amount of money - Elemental Designs...

untill feb 1st, you can get

11Ov.2 sub - $125
Nine.2x - $225
Then box and wiring for ~$150

= $500 for the total(plus some shipping) and it'll walk all over that kicker setup you have listed....

unfortunately, yes.... the price of materials is going up and up at a quick rate and the only way to keep the quality of the product from declining is to pull forum discount prices.... but you get a 5 year transferable warranty instead of 3 years...

Sucks. The warranty is always a plus, but I don't think their stuff will fail due to something covered under warranty for a lot longer than that.

that's true, but it's an extra brownie point when re-selling... many people will change out their system parts within 5 years and you'll get more if there's transferable warranty left on said parts...

also, there are those freak circuits in amps or slightly misaligned subs/speakers that do slip through QC and need to be sent back - but that's with any company...

was this a sanctioned event? where was the mic? was the car completely enclosed?

Sorry but I don't believe that a $25 sub on 90watts hit 139dB unless i see some proof.
