Sweet ace Pioneer AVIC-Z1.
I always bought my pioneer electronics from etronics.com Usually near wholesale prices. Just to compare, usually what ABC warehouse and them buy it for.
I'd guess....you'll seet i on sale for close to 1900,2000...but you gotta look for a deal or on ebay to get it to 1200 ish. We'll see though

If the sale price is 1900-2000, I'm sure someone will be getting one for closer to 1200, but that's going to be a total fluke and probably missing a wiring harness or something. I just want someone to build one that has NAV, double DIN, and Bluetooth in a nice package without so many extras so I can friggen afford it!
Somewhere in there it said 30 gigs. I think 10 is for music, which will hold a ton in reality. Remember that they're also loading the entire US (maybe world?) nav maps and POI in there. Which still shouldn't take 20 gigs. I bet there is a way to change the partition size or something, but it's really the least of my worries.
Compressed somehow? It's called mp3s. 10 gigs will hold something like 7500 minutes of music, or if you estimate each song at 3.5 minutes, something like 2150 songs. I think that's enough dood.
I have been doing lots of research on this unit and hopefully i'll be one of the first to have one once it comes out, of course after a good demoing that hopefully goes well.
But one question I have is how fast will it be able to rip the songs from CD's.
Hopefully its not like the Eclipse HDD unit where it rips while playing.

If it rips the songs from CDs, it's not going to have track info, etc. I'd want to load it with my own music. Speed of ripping is a totally moot point to me. I do that on my own. Having an MSRP of $2,600 is HUGE though - there is no way I'm spending that kind of money on a head unit. Someday you'll meet a girl who will kick your ___ for doing that kind of stuff (assuming you aren't one yourself).
