can you take a pic of the rear view camera ? where did you pass the wires from underneath the bumper ? where did you mount the cam itself ?

under the bumper there are 2 supports that basically hold the bottom shape. I mounted the camera on the lower left side support. It is not very noticable and does stay out of the weather quite a bit.
I passed the wires through a rubber plug under the spare tire. it is very easy to do. i will post pics of it once i get a chance... basically when the sun comes up tomorrow i can.

Also, where did you put all those accessory boxes?

It just occured to me that you have both XM and Sirius. At first that seemed a little redundant but that's actually a nifty capability to have. I suppose you don't have to chose between both services.

Well the z1 was dont have a brain to it... or a seperate brain i should say. there is plenty of room under the passenger seat to put the sirius and xm boxes. the ipod box is in the center console under the middle storage comrtment.

I have always had sirius and i like it alot more than xm, but when it came time to buy xm for the nav traffic, it was either 9.99 for just traffic, or 14.99 for 150 stations plus nav traffic... so i just payed the extra 5 just to have the other options.

Do you have the newer Ipod Adapter (CB-IB100II) or the first gen.?

I heard there wasn't a difference in performance between the two.

For those who are like me looking for the ND-BT1 bluetooth adapter for the AVIC-Z1,
Pioneer just announced that this particular part will not be avaliable until June !!

This is not good, they should launch all the accessories products along with the main unit especially one of their key selling point is bluetooth intergration. I guess I'll
not wait any longer and install my AVIC-Z1 and rest of the accessories first and worry about the bluetooth adapter later down the line.....what a bummer

Lovin the new Avic-Z1 but I have a D1, and i've got the iPod adapter thing. Does the new Avic-Z1 integrate the iPod better, because mine honestly sucks, because like it only shows i think 8 characters, so you see barely any of the song name. Plus navigating your library is super tough.

Yes the integration is just like what you would see on your ipod. You have al the same search capabilities.

has anyone figured out the unlock yet?

i have heard there is a program you can dl and burn, put in the disc and let it do the work...

i also heard that it you flash your headlights 3 times while in the pioneer startup screen while on a specific source, and then put in a dvd it will work...

i cant figure it out!

I tend to stay away from the Brooklyn Storefronts selling expensive electronic equiptment for real cheap. they are usually Bait and switch operations. They sell you the product real cheap, then ask you to buy accessories at a really high cost. They when you tell them you do not want anything else, suddenly the product you bought is out of stock and back ordered. Always check resellerratings.com. here is that websites reseller rating.

Well I had my avic-z1 installed and I love it. The only problem I see with it is that it is kinda hard now to close the lid. It barely catches it. I wonder if I should take it back and have them install it a bit further back. I love all the features of it. The bypass works awesome as well. Anyone else have any problems with the lid barely closing? SOmetimes when i close it and then i close my door, it is enough to let the lid open. I have the tcover waiting to be installed so maybe it will avoid that problem. Anyone have this problem?

yeah, you will really like the tcover. it is almost a must with this unit. i did have that problem but i drilled new holes in the metal brackets to allow the z1 to sit a bit further back. what bypass are you speaking of? did you find a bypss for dvds?

yeah the bypass is in the website above. I don;t want to say it cause most websites will lock u guys out if u type it so I don't want this message locked out. But go to the website. Do u know how much further back u had to drill the holes? I had a place install it so I will just take it back and tell them to.
