If you have a S/C'd tC with the stock airbox have extra fuses inside and a fuse puller

I had the same problem! But good news, you can actually just go to the parts store and get micro fuses. The "tabs" stick out a bit further but they still work the same. I hate how companies always try and customize all types of shiznit!

Ditto to what the other two said. I went through the same thing a year ago.

mini fuses fit.......unless they are for under the dash then they go in, but you can't put the fuse box lid back on.

Grrrr!

The dealer will charge $18.00 for the fuse and it's 6 hours of labor, so about $400.

Ohh and it's not covered by the warranty

In fact whilst we were changing the fuse we noticed your air conditioning needs to be totally replaced and your clutch has failed, your warranty is now void becuase you installed your own fuse and that is the reason your everything has failed.

We went ahead and did the work, how would you like to pay, the total is ermmmmm.....tap..tap...tap......$9,200.

Cash, credit or debit card?

Thanks for shopping Toyota, have a nice day.

my brother blew a fuse when we were installing a new head unit and some monitors...I went to one auto parts store but they only had the regular mini fuses. I have seen the ones that we need at one auto parts store. I believe it was Advanced Auto. Just have to look around. I was short on time, so i got the regular mini-fuse, then went to the dealer and paid about $3 I believe for one.

The odd fuses are a new type:
====
Series: 897
Technology:: Automotive Type
897 Series - Low-Profile MINIŽ Fast-Acting Automotive Blade Fuse

The Low Profile Mini fuse has similar performance characteristics as the standard Mini fuse.
The lower overall height allows for more space and weight savings. The Low Profile Mini fuse is
designed to mate with tuning-fork terminals, which provides additional weight and material
savings in fuse box designs by eliminating the need for female box terminals.
====

Here's a PDF datasheet on them from one of the manufacturers of fuses (Littelfuse):
http://tijil.org/897.pdf

Some retailers actually carry them - but not many yet...
http://autobodysupplies.safeshopper.com/30/502.htm

At least you can go into your preferred local autoparts shop and beat on them so they can
start stocking them.
