bought a Pioneer CD-IB100 iPod Adapter from Best Buy for only $119. had the guys at Best Buy install it on my '05 tC single CD unit. after taking out the stereo, the Best Buy crew found out that i still need an adapter of some sort to connect the IP-BUS input cable coming from the CD-IB100 to the head unit.

tried searching on www.pie.net for that certain adapter but to no avail. i'll try emailling them as well but any suggestions would be appreciated. according to the Best Buy crew, it shouldn't cost no more than $40.

please help.

If you got the iPod head unit, with the extra jack in the armrest.... my assumption is that they are supposed to give you a cable with it.

The only iPod that is different is the iPod Shuffle, b/c it doesn't have the dock connector. ALL other iPods are the same. Same cord, same connector. Your dealer is on crack.

After doign some searching... it might not be compatible with our radio. Even though it's a Pioneer, it's still pretty proprietary.

Crutchfield has a list of compatible head units:

Your dealer. Just go to the parts dept and give him that part number. Don't talk to the salesman, just go to the parts counter.

take that part number to the Toyota parts counter (forget the sales guy) and they should hook you up.

You could call them first and ask about "that cable that comes with the car to connect the Ipod". If the parts counter say it doesn't come with it, then you have your answer.

I never trust the sales guys about parts and go straight to the parts counter. Those guys know what goes where and which parts are included and which are optional.

Default MP# Player

I have a 2006 tC (I haven't been able to change my status on here for some reason whenever I click on profile to update my profile to update it I get logged out but that is another issue) and I have my MP3 Player hooked up to my Ipod2car plug it works, but I have to unplug it before I turn the car on, turn the radio off, then plug it in (I bought the plug from Wally World) Then turn the radio back on. I am not able to veiw any of the folders or anything on my radio all it says is AUX. But it is great cause I don't have to constantly change out CD's.

Is this a non-iPod that is connected to the iPod2Car? Because I think one of those devices has both an iPod connector and a regular AUX connector. If you're on just the AUX one, that would be why you're not seeing any info on the radio.

Also, if you have an 06, and you're just using a non-iPod player, you didn't need the iPod2Car thing - there is an AUX port in your armrest.

Default MP3 Player

My MP3 Player only has one hook up for everything and I didn't see anything else on the car for it to plug into.

^ Here's one option that one of the guys liked:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=106439

That's probably the most affordable. But there's also the iPod2Car which I know a few people have. Both seem to work OK as far as I know - and should work without issue with our OEM receiver.

Default My TC Ipod

I went to mp3yourcar.com and ordered an Ipod kit for my 2005 tc Scion. I received a Peripheral Ipod2car converter and two cables, PXHTY1 and PXHTY2. I popped out my radio and hooked everything up and it works great. You will need to use both cables. You will also need to go to the dealers website to get the manual to set the dip switches. If you screw up on the switches, disconnect your converter and set them correctly. Wait five minutes and it will work.
