tC radio door squeak
i'm glad this is helping. when i recently installed my alpine deck, i had to remove the cover a couple times. the result was a new annoying squeak. so i just put another layer of tape and it went away.
GREAT THREAD! i had taken my radio door off before and that seemed to lessen the squeaks, but it didn't go away completely.
After reading this thread.. i did the 3M tape as well as a drop of glue on the mounting holes and ALL radio door squeaks gone!! woot! now to fix the hatch rattle.

THANK GOD someone figured this out. My squeek issue recently surfaced and I thought that cricket on crack sound was going to make me lose my damn mind. People who don't have the problem have NO IDEA HOW BAD IT IS.
I'm going to go fix mine now.

AWESOME detective work! I just did this like 20 mins ago, and not a squeak to be heard. That squeaking was AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A brief piece of advice to others who will do this - play around with the amount of tape that you need, I found that 1 piece was enough to fix it, whereas more than one piece caused my radio cover to catch and it acquired a jerky motion. Now I just have to fix my damn hatch rattle...
Another quick update about this fix using the tape. I did the tape but found that after a few weeks the pegs started to squeek again. There is a third peg in between the vents that i did miss that also will squeek. I came back and used crazy glue to do the fix. My dash has yet to blow up and its been about 3 weeks.
The squeek is back intermittently. I taped every protruding fitting pin and tab too. Today I was squeekless, but tonight, who knows... lol
I'm seriously thinking about using some of the teklite eDead v4 stuff on that damn thing and maybe some plasti dip rubberizing spray on or something. When I turn up my volume about 50% of the way up, the damn thing squeeks. You can't hear the squeek much if you just crank of the volume a little more (60 - 70%) but fixing the squeek permanently is better than blasting over it and going deaf, because 60% is about all my ears can really take without feeling like I'm about to lose an ear drum if I keep it up.

I had this problem too, i just removed the shift **** and the piece that covers it, then i took the center part out of my dash, just like you would if you had to install a new HU, there are some screws that you remove and you'll see theese three little plastic posts, there are three little plastic holes that go down over them, wrap them in some very small pieces of insulation ( i used pipe insulation from *GASP* Wal-Mart)...no more squeek.
I had the same problem, when driving on a bumpy road or with the bass up u could hear a rattle comming from behind the headunit, i took it off liek 20x trying to fix it. finally fixed it by tighting the screws that control the springs for the door to open/close. dont tighten them too much or u will have trouble opening and closing the door. just play with it until u get it perfect. havent had any problems since
wow, this thread is awesome. I was so annoyed by this problem and i decided to fix it myself instead of wasting my time with a dealer and i was so nervous pulling off the dash since Ethe paint scratches so easily. I did it anyways ai put tape on all the spots and glued the little pin and everything works just fine and smooth and i didn thear any squeaks when i drove it around the block a few times and on bumps. Good stuff guys.
