Are there such things as 3-channel amps?
The reason Im asking this is because Im very limited on space to mount 2 amps (1 for components and 1 for subs). Im currently running my alpine type-r components off my alpine x-001 headunit. In addition, I also have eDs SQ 10 in a stealth box running off an alpine 1.500.
Ive been craving to get more sound from my components that are being powered off the headunit. To accomplish that, Im going to need to get amps powering them. Currently, my mono amp is sitting on top a platform I build over the spare tire. I dont want to mount a 2-/4-channel somewhere visible, thus my only solution is to replace that mono with either a 3-channel (if theres such a thing) or a 4-channel.
I know eD makes a 5-channel, as well as other brands, but I dont really need to power my rear's sound stage. If it matters, I have alpine type r coaxles in the back...so I might as well if it really comes down to it.
What routes can I go to finding a solution? Im looking to keep my subs, but also power my components.

Good luck finding the NINe.5........no one is giving theirs up........also one thing to know about the NINe.5........it is huge.........look in my profile and you will see I had to mount it under a false floor,it takes the entire back as it is like 28" long......works great but it is big.
I know that Alpine does make the nice littel stackable amps.......get a 2 channel one,they are like 9"x 9" ..they are pretty bullet proof amps.

YES! There have been several 3-channel amps available over the years. The most common were from Xtant, and while they're very high quality, they're also fairly expensive. Here's a link to one example;

That's an actual 3-channel, not a 4-ch that's been bridged internally.
That's much more common and effectively the same thing from most end-user's perspective, and likely a fine solution for the OP.

I don't know if the power is right for you but:

^ You need to find one that meets the goals of your entire system. Do either of those amps linked to in this thread produce the appropriate power for your system, to both the components and sub? Does either of them have the required built-in crossovers that'll work for the speakers you plan on using (I see the DLS only has a 1st order HPF, which could be inadequate, depending on other factors)? It really depends on what you have planned...
