true, the main goal wasn't to shake things, but sometimes it's still fun to crank it up and have some fun. my system sounds VERY good but still can be a lot of fun to listen to. especially on metal.

Full body horns will play down to 600hz (all the way up to 20khz). I got the minibodies which will play down to 1k but 1.25k to play it safe. I have the Daytons RS180s in the doors right now and it seems like people said that it can run up to 2k "ok" but we'll see, cross everybody at 1.25k and hope everyone will be happy. Also with the horns, it is 101db 1w/m sensitivity. The fullbodies are 106db, the CD2 fullbodies are 109db. Get very loud with little power. From what I've read horns are the "hit you in the chest midbass/range".

I don't know if you guys have noticed this, but with the windows down (yes, i know that i lose cabin gain and try to stay away from it as much as possible) the rubber at the bottom of the windows shakes/resonates audibly. The water in my water bottles also shakes a bit.

That's in addition to the trunk, sometimes doors, and on certain songs, the radio door.

I'm running an eD 13Ov.2 on 600W RMS through an eD NINe.2x amp.

don't know much about horns but aren't mid-bass frequencies around 80-300 or so? anything higher is considered mid-range. so with a crossover point of 1.25k they won't be seeing any mid-bass. but they will be loud in the mid-range and highs.

Yeah you're right. But so I will have the daytons play at 80hz-1.25k and the horns at 1.25khz-20khz. So we'll see. I still need to get a sound processor. I want to get the H701+controller but to much money. So I might settle for the 3sixty.2.

THATS WHAT THAT WAS!! I was driving my car home today and I was getting this annoying buzzing rattle like noise from my driver door. I wound up pushing the button to roll up the windows punched my door and punched the arm rest and the buzzing went away. I thought it mighta been the arm rest but maybe it was the window. I had mine rolled down a bit today, maybe it didn't go all the way back up.

I've been to quite a few concerts that had bass hits that vibrated the whole place and drown out all the other music temporarily. Nobody said we roll around with a car full of subs and no mids/highs. Even with loud bass, my mids can still get loud enough to be heard. I love going to a concert or club and being able to feel the music. I try to somewhat emulate that in my car. I'm no audiophile and don't want to spend the time positioning my speakers with laser guides and adjusting the time-delay so that only one seat in my car has great sound and all others suffer. I will however RTA my car and adjust for a nice smooth response. I just want a warm sound that can get loud if I want it to.

On different note, I am slightly obsessed with bass. I don't know what it is. When I was a kid I would see these cars driving by bumping and it always appealed to me. I know it's a retarded thing to be into, but so are 99% of the things that appeal to me. There really is no point to it but it makes me happy. You could say most of the things on this forum are pointless. It's just what appeals to us.

I respect sound Q and enjoy listening to those system, but I personally have more fun building SPL systems. A happy mixture of both is where it's at for my daily driver. Sorry for rambling.

Peace

in addition to what has been mentioned, my wiper arms rattle like a ****, and the other day I noticed my hood latch area was making a loud rattle, which sucks because my entire car has numerous layers of raammat and ensolite and nothing really audibly rattles, including the trunk. that, and I broke my rear view mirror. it didn't fall off, it just wont stay up. and this is all in a sealed box. i'd imagine it'd be far worse in a ported one, but i'm more about the looks and sq

Has anybody ever hit the right frequency with the right amplitude to make their sunroof visor open all by itself.

I do on many different songs and even not turned all the way up. :D
