I've done a bit of research and I was wondering what all of your opinions are

what would you recommend? this is purely for input

Alpine R (not going to bother with X or B (or is it E?) )
HiFonics
Audiobahn
KENWOOD (i have a home system by them and i'm pretty impressed with quality)
Rockford Fosgate
JL Audio (i used to have one of their subs and it was epic)
Kicker
Pioneer (not sure which one to get, some models are crap and some are supposedly great)

Only 12" subs, mention any other brand you want (dont bother if you like Bazooka or MTX Jackhammers)

its in pre-production and going for $100/ea. right now. damn good price for a great quality company. they get an A+ in my book.

Elemental Designs for me.

 

I've always wanted to try Elemental. Two of my past systems were Kenwoods and I've been happy with both so Im kind of a fan of Kenwood. So I guess chaulk one up for Kenwood on me. Current set up I have cost me about 250 and I'm very happy with it.

Ive to always always wanted to try ED, but My latest system i had was a Kicker L5 in the Kicker Ported Box and it made me want to sell my system because it was bone ratteling

 

x2, I had one entry-level memphis power reference and that thing pound the poo out of trunk. so yea memphis is good

 

RE Audio are known in the industry as JL w7 killers. Once you try them, you'll never go back.

 

I like the following in sealed boxes.......Image Dynamics IDQ12.....clean and hits like a mother.

the new ED 12" is a super priced sub and if it performs like the rest of their subs it is a best value.

Also the last I really like the entry level Memphis......very solid subs with good power handeling and good sound too.

 

wow JL killers? must be really good, i loved my JL when I had one

EDIT: and man does the price ever show it :-O not a huge price up from JL but still its a significant buy

edit again: not a fan of ported boxes (just a side note) some people are fanatical about them but i'm a firm believer in sealed boxes

 

JL Audio is overrated imo, nice products but your paying for the name.

dont go kenwood bad experiences with car audio from them tho u can find good prices on their stuff

 

Extremely overrated! ED is some of the best stuff you can get for the best price

 

not sure haha, Alpine Rs seem pretty solid i'm surprised no one has mentioned those lol. I wouldn't say JL is overrated, if anything is overrated its MTX (pukes)

well do u have an amp already?

 

hah, yeah its only 400watt but i've hooked it up to my bud's alpine R 12" and it sounds great (middle of rms rating)
