Wrapping the Stock Steering Wheel In Suede
Well.....Its hasn't been done, but if you want too do its going to expensive because its labor intensive to get the curves the wheels. I wanted to do it but it was going to cost like 450

not hating, just saying it might not be great on a daily drivin car.

If I were to try it, here's how I'd do it:
1. Get a salvage yard wheel, this is going to take awhile.
2. Using a razor, carefully cut the stitching all the way around the factory leather
3. buy some REAL pigskin suede. None of this fabric store fake crap. It will wear much better.
4. Lay out and trace the factory leathers onto the new suede using chalk.
5. punch holes for the new binding thread
6. reassemble/sew onto new wheel

If you had a spare wheel and a couple of punches and leather needles.........you could stitck a new one up using the old cover as a pattern in under 4 hours.........it should look pretty good too......I did it with leather on a old car once and it was not too hard to do and it came outperfect.....the tieoff is hard to do though......
I think that the green five axis tc had a stock steering wheel wrapped in suede, it's definitely been done, I would think it would be better to just get a new steering wheel, one that's fatter, and feels better in your hands for around the same price, if it would really cost around $450 to get it re-upholstered. I think Personal makes a leather steering wheel, with suede inserts that would probably work really well just my .02cents

my stock steering wheel wrapped with leather, and molded wood w/Carbon fiber look (thinking about redoing it in real CF t match my seats.
I got 3 stocks steering wheels If you are brave enough to attempt this mod.
