Just take the floormats out when you're in the car.

I keep rubber mats over my stock ones for at least five months out of the year (winter). I took the rubber ones out about two months ago, and have noticed some wear on the carpet mats (have a 5-speed), but it seems to be on par with the amount of driving that I do. The aggressive driving bit doesn't fly with me.

I am considering having an upholstery shop custom make new carpet inserts for the stock mats, only with black berber or wool carpet.

Mine managed to live though 9 months of my use, but then I let my friend's wife drive the car for a day and now I have a hole under the gas pedal from her high heels... The newer release floor mats should not have this problem. I'll try to get mine warrantied, but the chances are slim...

I suspect the genuine Scion mats are a marginally better fit than the ones I bought at K-mart, but the ones from K-mart, with a rubber-like protective area where shoe heels hit, only cost $14.

At that rate I could buy about ten of these four piece sets for the price of one from my dealer...

(Yeah, I know, I'm an xB herder, but c'mon, the Scion mats are seriously overpriced on all models. Decent carpet floor mats aren't rocket science. )

BUMP

The mats suck A$$.....they are horrible...l had the dealer replace them and then they got messed up nearly 2 months later....Those Mats are GARBAGE!! Fight to have the dealer replace them....if they don't ask the to Speak to the SCION Rep at your dealer....that person comes in once a week to see whats going on with the SCIONS..... Remember that the Scion rep...has the final say not the dealer...

GOOD LUCK....to all of us with these ____ty mats....

Also to all the people who say its the type of shoe you are wearing.... all i got to say is....are you frickin serious...its not like you are driving with frickin cleats on....

I am on my third set (2nd set was covered by dealer as a warranty item). They will not replace my third set (already worn out). I have had 8 Toyotas in my lifetime and I have never had a floor mat issue. I am trying to see if Scion will be doing something about the quality problem. A side note, the Limited Edition Red Scion Tc has different floormats that appear to have fixed the problem we are all having. see link
