It wasnt that bad actually. I dremeled apart the light assembly, removed the stock LEDs, soldered in the white LEDs and used silicone to glue the housing back together. Luckily the mirror cover (painted part) covers all the glued edges so it looks perfect.

 

they're turn signals...can they be seen during the day?

Ill let you know tomorrow. Its not a big deal though, most cars dont even have mirror signals.

LEDs. I tried to use a 194 bulb but theres only 5V going through. The 194s need 12V

out of curiousity, are they legal in CA?

 

I have no idea. Hopefully I wont find out the hard way.

 

front turn signals in CA can be yellow or white. back can be amber or red. so you should be ok.
