Youve got to thave a lemon, thats way to many problems for one car.

 

um... are you sure you didn't wreck it and have it fixed subconsciously? that's a lot of isolated stuff.

 

Other than all the issues its having the car is 100% fit and just like it came off the show room floor... I am pretty sure they will fix the issues though I am sure I shall have to fight with them on it... its had other issues in the past and they fixed them but it took some bringing it back to them several times.. the rattle/whine above the A/C vent in the center has been going on since I bought the car and they still have not fixed it... other than that the only thing they are giving me hell on is the scratches that were on it and still are on it 9 months later... these scratches were on the car when I took possession on it.. and are noted on the papers I signed when picking it up, and papers say dealer will repair these.. they tried and only made them worse.. and still have not fixed them.. so we shall see what happens... nice to know someone else is having some of these issues.. well not NICE TO KNOW.. but atleast I am not alone... arkansas is not the best with its lemon law... my saturn was a true lemon from saturn of LR and they finally got the point they wouldnt honor the warrenty anymore.. so I had to trade it in... thats when I got my civic... civic was ok.. a few lil things here and there but honda fixed them.. but I liked the tC so I traded the civic in... dont regret the trading in.. but maybe I should have waited a few more months... or a yr... anyway this tC is mine so they WILL fix her...

 

yeah ive had my tC for a while now and i havent had one problem except for a little bit of squeeking of the dash (gulp) but it sounds like you have a lemon, i would take it back to the dealer and raise hell. if it truely does have all those problems, you've tried fixing them and they keep coming back, then they are entitled to get you a new car, its in the contract.

LEMON LAW!!! if the dealer cant fix it... get a new one! i'd sure would not want to keep my tC if it had all those problems... i'd want a new one! but thats me...

 

well they went ahead and looked at it today, they are ordering the interior parts... I guess because of all the issues I am having they went ahead and chose to do so... they are gonna look at the hatch but confirmed something isnt right. They think it might be the shockrods. As for all the odd electrical issues, they have to talk to the saleman that sold me the car... seems they think the issues is with the alarm but they arent sure.. and since they had a habit back when my car of taking the cars to a place called Alta Mere oddly a place they dont use.. geez.. wonder why... anyway they would take them there to get the factory alarm kits installed for cheaper.. well seems yeah its cheaper and this is why and the result.. Alta Mere wont talk to me... I had dealings with them when I had my civic and they still remember the royal ___ chewing I gave them when they ____ed my cars interior up when they were putting the tint in... anyway I will keep you updated.. again they are not sure if the alarm is the cause but they want to start there.. then see whats next on the list.. atleast they are fixing the other issues so.. either way... they WILL fix my car.... or they wont like what happens next..

P.S. they know I am not lying because the car pulled three of the issues while it was in their service bay.. so much to the point that the main check in guy went and got the head mechanic to look at it... he had never seen a tC have that many issues and do them right in front of them while they were inspecting the hatch issue

 

sounds like there is so progress that is going on..good for you..I hope they can fix them all even the intermitant ones..

 

I don't know about other problems but I just paid a visit to the dealer and they decided to replace all plastic trim pieces in the hatch (under the warranty). They were just falling apart!

 

can you say LEMON! return it and get a new one.

This guy had an electrical fire in his TC due to a faulty install of interior lights. Hopefully you wont have similar problems due to a faulty install of your alarm system.

 

Definitely a messed up vehicle there. Mine is now at 15k with no issues. An occassional squeak from the dash (which by the way is caused by the radio cover door). But nothing else. Mine has been on a few long road trips as well (8 or more hours at a shot).

 

first off: there is a service bulletin about the AC vents. so they;ll get replaced

if the alarm is aftermarket then it is likely the cause of all your really whack electrical ____.

my car idles a bit rough at a light, but i noticed so do celicas and other ____ i drive at work

my rear sunroof rattles constantly. so does the hatch. it sounds like the glass is loose or cracking or some ridiculousness.

a problem i have that you didn't mention is brake pad slap. whenever i i jerk the car like in a shift or if i reverse and tap the brakes, my pads on the left side make a loud smack! i replaced the pad slides in the caliper mount, but that didn't do ____.



i ____ing hate my car. it makes way too much noise in places it shouldn't. good luck with getting yours fixed. it shouldn't be a big deal, dealers are all about getting warranty ____ fixed because when it's done you get a survey in the mail. so if they blow it you get to ream them out to corporate central etc.

 

The salesman called me back and I am bringing the car back to the dealer Thursday. They will be giving me a loaner and taking the can themselfs to the alarm place that did the crappy job. Since the salesman sent my car to the wrong place in the first place, and this very reason is one reason why they dont use that place anymore. So yeah electrical issues they think is the alarm.. but like I warned him... it did examples of the issues right in front of the senior service mech so its proof... however Alta Crap I can assure them since they dont do business with them will most likely never admit they messed the car up, they will most likely say nothing is wrong with it..... Yeah the interior issues easy fix.. been a few here and there already now. The One they are concerned with the most is the hatch being off so much in two places but but on target at all the line up points and the seals. As the mech said the only things that could cause the hatch to be off that bad but without messing with it opening to much would be bad shock lifts.... or.... the thing he did mention.. which doesnt make any sense to him or me or the other main mech. The body warped around the hatch somewhere..... warping out away from the hatch.. thats the only way it could line up everywhere else but be off only on that side and at the top on that side only.. since nothing else appears to be off with the hatch.... hmmm well I have news.. if somehow by some screwed up luck I got a car that's body warps that easily... I love my tC but they aint cutting it apart to try to fix it... hell no..... they can just replace it.. in that one reason would I take a replacement.. because if the body is warping... then I dont want to be driving it... indeed makes me smell lemon fresh in my car then...

 

I too have noticed some kind of weird popping sound in my tc. Usually happens when turning up a driveway too fast and braking. I also notice the exact same sound when shifting from park to reverse. I'm Beginning to think it has something to do with the brakes. I also noticed my sunroof get a bit lose. And there's a damn crusty leaf stuck in there that I can't get out! My tc barely has a little over 3100 miles on it. Other than that...its perfect and I love it! Any recommendations on when exactly your first oil change should happen?

 

YES! Me tooo. Thought I had spilled something on them in my trunk, but the window cleaning liquid was in a rubbermaid tub. One hinge is way rusty at 5000 miles.

 

i find the whole bit about the car alarm going off while you drive, HALARIOUS... i mean yea its terrible but hey, dirve it like you stole it right???

 

Well here is an update.. took the car to the dealer and dropped it off yesterday.. they gave me an xA to drive around it while my tC is in the shop... boy is that a change i dont like it either... anyway so I should be getting the car back sat, alarm shop told the dealer they found several issues with the alarm and are fixing them, not to mention that the original info they were given and was being given out like when I got my tC, that the aftermarket alarm would work with the scion keys built in buttons is wrong, seems thats an issue with it as well and explains why the alarm doesnt engage sometimes... anyway so several issues but they will have it all fixed.. if this is true thats (Electrical issues out of the way) andddddd (Interior Trim parts on the way) andddd (Hatchback being warped on one side still unknown cause) andddd (rust issue on hinge has been taken care of... actually all thats left on my tc is the moofroof thingy... the hatch.. and the trim on the inside.. then she is all perfect again :D YAY! anyway thought I would post an update....

I hope you get all your problems sorted out - the electrical ones are worrisome, because you don't know what else might go wrong down the line. I know it's a tC and it's yours.. but you gotta make sure they fix it or be ready to move on, either with a new tC or another car. good luck and keep us posted!
