Acceleration?
the difference to me was the price..i just got mine and i was considering getting an Acura RSX-Type S, but i figured i would save the 4 or 5 grand and turbo my tC.....i mean it will put more power out for about the same price...just my opinion
It all depends on what u'r point of reference is... if all you ever had before was a 10-speed bicycle, then yes, the tC is quick... the tC weights in around the same as most compact cars.
IMO, its slow, not enough power to do much, once it is moving, say like on the highway, it still lacks the power to give you good control of moving thru traffic.
It is a great ride, but it wasn't designed to be a speed demon

I find it just fine on the highway... unless your "highway" is a race track or something. Are you driving an auto? Based on my experienced with the AT tC, I am not surprised when people complaining about the tC's acceleration and they drive the AT one.
I mean, just the fact that I can both cruise and pass other cars easily in fifth gear speaks pretty well to me.

tc is quick with a manual and a capable driver. people who say it is slow either drive an auto, are used to driving their parents much more expensive cars, or think it i slow because they race things like wrx, and srt-4, or mustang gt.
the tc is a good car and with a few bolt-ons it gets even better. mine has intake, exhaust and a crank pulley which have proved to be great improvements that i notice every week on the interstate at 70 to 110 mph.
the tc is a great capable car but only if it has a driver that knows how to stir the gearbox.

I have a 5-speed... and use to own a ~300whp srt-4, so as i said, its about u'r perspective.
Bottom line is, its got 140whp... in a nearly 3000lbs car... its not much to write home about.
Handling on the other side, its actually pretty good

its quick for how much it is. fast acceleration on a $15k car is a lot different than fast acceleration on a $20-25k car
