I am getting kind of ____ed... my dealer told me back in April that the 09's were not coming out anytime soon... then in early may called to tell me they had preferenced the BRM 09 I was looking for... they call me back yesterday telling me the preference finally "took" as in they have been trying this whole time but the computer just wouldn't allow it... they say Toyota has not allowed any CA dealers access to 09's yet and it will be mid June before it's likely I see mine...

This sounds all wrong...

Dealers are already getting 09's and it makes no sense that CA dealers couldn't, but I know things don't make sense sometimes. I would like to know if any CA dealers can comment on if this is true or not...

One of my friends just traded in his 05 lease for an 09. I don't remember what dealer he got it from but we're in the LA area.

 

Yeah that is not true- I've seen 09s at Longo-- Maybe that particular dealer just isn't getting any 09s for awhile

 

This particular dealer is giving me some kind of run around >

They told me my official toyota press release was wrong and showed me a page of all the upcoming orders to prove it to me even though it turns out of course it was right and then tells me this now.

I am thinking I should go in and talk to them about this. I would love to threaten to take my business elsewhere but they have to know there is only one other scion dealer around and they aren't really even close...

I am not sure what I am going to do but this makes me very unhappy...

Just because a dealer isn't close doesn't mean you might not buy it from them. I got tons of dealers around me, I went out of the way and bought my tC from a dealer that's about a 30 min drive from my house because the salesman was so much cooler. He found me on here (simplyscion) and got me exactly what I wanted no hassle no questions no nothing. Threaten Away.

 

The 'o9s are trickling in. Of course the larger volume dealerships will most likely get 'first dibs'. (Ex. Longo.)

 

Interestingly I called up the other dealer (who is about 30 minutes away) and they also don't have 09s... in fact he checked and found out that the zone I am in and the ones immediately around us have no 09s and have none on order.

It seems that california is not the issue, but specifically my area of california... southern CA and eastern CA seem to be able to get 09s but north west seems to be out of luck....

So looks like it's possible that the dealership wasn't entirely lying (it's not CA but they just maybe really can't get any)...

 

Most of the dealers I came in contact were liars. They sold the car I put money down on... Than I had to go through this whole process of swapping VINS.

 

yeah you gotta shop around until you find the one you are lookig for and some dealers do have the 09's already just no advertising them yet because they want to get rid of the 08's.

 

Do they have any new colors for 09?

 

search it up on scion.com and see for yourself if they have the 09's already on there.

 

No new colors for the 09 tCs- just new seat color, kinda. They have solid black seats now...but that's really the only difference from the 08s

Yeah I would have thought they were lying to me except I get the same story from the other scion dealer in the next city (with the exception they just say no 09s in the general region, not in all CA).

Maybe they are both telling the same lie...
