Default Big scratch.

Today, I just noticed that there was a big scratch below the Head Unit, on the silver plastic part of the console. I think this was there when I drove off the lot. But I didn't see it until today. Its really big, about 3-4 inches long. Its not that deep, but I can still feel it with my fingernail. Its an eye sore!

What can I use to fix this scratch?

Go to the dealership and say what you just said nicely and they will probably warranty a new one.

Well with all the problems i've had with the dealer, I doubt it would be that easy. I would rather just try and fix it myself, if possible. Any ideas on what I can use?

Go to another dealer and be polite. You might be surprized.

I'm not really sure but, I don't think that would count as a warranty repair.

For your best bet, goto the dealer that you bought the vehicle from. I know that I have had problems with the toyota dealer from whom I bought my xB but when my brake rotors and pads were really fukd up after only 10k miles and they completely grabbed and wouldn't let me drive...I went to 2 other dealerships (supposedly the BEST voted ones in so cal) and they both said it was a wearable part and is not covered under the warranty. When I went to the dealer I got the car from, they fixed everything and said that the first time is free and that goes for other parts also...that would have been a $300+ job.

If you came to my dealership and were polite we would definately warranty it to promote good customer relations. Try it.

the problem is you are taking to the dealer to get that part fixed and the morons will end up scraching 2 or 3 more thing in the process of fixing the scratched part. then they will keep it 2 times as long as they told you. then they will find someway of charging you for something. dealers suck, ive owned new and used cars and they always mess somthing up or try to screw you the first chance they get.

unfortunately my dealer, has anything but good customer relations. the reason why i've had so many problems with them. they have so many customers that they dont care if they lose a customer or two. they are just out to make money.

Remember, some customers suck too. With your childish attitude I'm sure you will get real far in life.

i talked to some service guy at toyota and explained to him in a nice manner about my scratch and he said its not covered under warranty. but i really dont know if he knew what he was talking about. i knew this would happen. this has to be one of the worst service dept.'s in florida.
