Default Cabin whistling sound

I noticed about 2 weeks ago that there is a whistling noise in my cabin. at first i thought i just had a ringing in my ear. but it was really there. then! i thought okay, maybe its my vents (i had 2 closed, with air on) and it made no difference open, closed, on or off. its only when both windows are closed.

i have 17500 miles on the car so it isnt something out of factory. i have made no mods to the car that would cause that sort of sound, either.

anyone else have such an issue? kinda comes up out of nowhere... its very much annoying. anyway, yeah this isnt really warranty material, yet. haha. "yeah uhh... my cabin whistles..."

I have a whistling sound coming from my car though, but it only sounds up when i press on the gas, or idle it. I believe mine is coming from the exhaust, could be the same in your case. I actually like it. As if there is a turbo whinning up!

haha nice.

well, it could be only when im hitting the gas. i have to test this theory. it is only while moving, so it could be.

also, i know it isnt the intake or exhaust. both are deep rumbling sounds, and ive had them on for a while anyway. that also doesnt explain why its only when the windows are up. perhaps some seals around the windows have gone loose?

if it happens after you go above like 40 mph, its probably your sunroof, thats what mine is. Check it out, the sunroof probably isn't flush with the rest of the roof either. I have to get mine checked out in about 2 weeks.

If the whistling noise is when you accelerate its NORMAL. The tC's were designed to sound like that. The sound is similar to a CAI.

My top windshield modling was loose and lifted up a little on my car, this caused a very loud whistle at highway speeds. Unless you knew it, you wouldn't notice it out of place, it was only like 1/8 inch up in the very middle. I pulled the molding off and had the dealer put it back on.

no, it is not from the engine or the intake.

it is not while pressing the gas.

it is while moving.

it could be the sunroof or the windows though. it is identical to a ringing in your ear. im going to check out all the seals tomorrow.

thanks for all your input guys!
