The main rattling problem that people experience is when the lower mount breaks. If you have an SRI setup then you are only using the upper mount. The lower mount is used for the CAI setup, and it has a tendancy to break all by itself. Mine snapped after about 1,000 miles of running the CAI. If it breaks, then you can use the Doctor Isotope mounting panel to secure the pipe and fix the problem. If you want to save yourself the hassle, then you can install the Doctor Isotope panel from the beginning, and then you won't have to worry about the possibility of the intake mount breaking.
so by what u guys said in here conclude that cheap SRI sell in ebay seen pretty decent also? i saw past thread about the dyno on all the different kind of CAI SRI and the HP gain chart...concluded that CAI is better than SRI..so what really true? way very confusing now
you will see minimal gains ether way.
Really its cosmetic/show more than anything.
The ebay ones are find. Just mke sure they have a cut out for the mass air flow. Some of the ones ive seen are just a universal pipe ,so look at that also
