I went super white with my tC, but here are some pictures that show it with the TYC lights. After going back and forth for several months, I finally bought them and installed them. I like that they make my car stand out. Only seen a couple in the area with the lights...

Default ricer

Well I'm probably one of the oldest Tc owners here ( 44 ) but i like the aftermarket stuff. I got the barebones FM and the only thing I wish I got was the factory wing. Get it how you like it and enjoy. The only thing I really don't like on cars is that huge muffler sticking out the back that screems ricer. As for the TRD tail lights. Don't think they add anything to style. If I was to do it over I would get the supercharger and everything else stock. I think there's nothing better then a wolf in sheep clothing.

Those look nice. My friend Trav wanted to get those on his Super White, but was afraid they'd look funny. I'm gonna' make sure to show him that they actually look pretty good!

I noticed in my area- there are only about 3 tC's, and none of them have the TYC tail lights, so I'm pretty happy that mine is gonna' stand out from theirs.

Thanks for posting the pictures!

This is an interesting thread. You guys should try owning a box. People really make fun of your car. My coworkers call my xB "The Mystery Machine" because they think it looks like the scoobie do van. Anyway, I don't give a s*** cause once someone gets to ride in it (or play my xbox in the back) they realize how awesome it is. BTW, the TC is a sweet looking ride, if anyone calls it rice tell them to f'off. Its your car, get it the way you want!

The salesman at C&O Motors said: "When it comes to the xB, you either love them or hate them." He said this guy came in and thought an xB was ugly- but the second he drove it, he fell in love. Eventually, he got a sticker that said "Butt-Ugly" on the front. Ha Ha.

I think xB's are awesome. My brother is getting one here soon. =)

As for my tC- I've came to this conclussion... I wanted this car for a reason. I loved it... I ordered the 18" wheels, the pedestal spoiler, the TYC tail lights, the LED lights and everything else for a reason... and that was because I wanted them. I should quit worrying about what everyone else thinks and go with what I think looks best!

just my opinion, which doesnt really matter cuz it should b all about wut u want cuz its UR car
*i woulda scratchd the tail lights from the order cuz i dun really like em.
*i love the pedestal spoiler, partly cuz i love mine
*nothin wrong with the upgraded wheels if u like them, jus payd a little more. make sure u get ur stocks back
*the lights, theyre neat and if u dont wannem on occasion, turn em off, but theyre always there when ur feeling blue

and yea as far as know, even on the east coast, all scions come in stock and upgrades are done at the dealership sp it shouldnt b a problem canceling the option

::im making this comment without reading have the replies on the first page and any of the replies on the 2nd::

Actually, everything is put on at the port. The car come shipped the way you order it from NY.

Actually, both answers are right. In some zones (SET, GST) the vehicles can be preconfigured to have most or all of the needed accessories already installed at the port. I am not sure about CAT and New York zones. The northeast is stopping port operations and moving everything to railheads. Either way, if you preconfigured the vehicle before you ordered it, most of the stuff is probably going to be put on at port. Most of this equipment can be changed, deleted or other stuff added before it gets to port. Once it is there, it may be too late to make changes. I don't know what timeframe you are looking at, so I can't give you exacting information. Once the vehicle has hit port, there is nothing you can do to change your requests. They are already in process at that point. Call the dealer you bought it through and ask to talk to the Inventory Control Manager. This may be a Sales Manager or a person who's sole responsibility is the dealership's inventory. Either way, they can give you exacting dates and options that you have open to you. Don't delay though. Make up your mind and call immediately. As the days click by your chances of changes drops each day. Also, don't be surprised if your changes delay delivery of your vehicle. I have known some ports to take vehicles with changed orders to the back of the line for reprocessing. Depending on how many vehicles they have to do, that could delay the delivery by weeks in some cases. Ask anyone who was or is waiting for an RS 3.0 XB about that.

So, what do the people that call it a stupid rice car drive?
Do they drive Ford/GM/Dodge?

Just remember 200,000 miles from now, your car will still run.

The options you listed are fine. Personally I don't like the pedestal spoiler, but I don't think it looks bad either, just not my style.

According to what I was told, all the options are put on in NY, then the car is shipped here to WV.
I don't know about the east coast, but out here all the scions are delivered bone stock, and the dealer installs the options. I saw my box right after it came off the truck and it had nothing, no radio, no leather, stock tails, stock exhaust, no fogs etc...
the northeast has NY as their port of entry.
most options are installed at port, a few at the dealership

it is cheaper this way.
When I bought mine here in MN ALL the options were dealer installed. I ordered mine, so the car came to port in Oregon, was shipped here, then the options were installed the next day at the dealer.

And as far as rice, not rice, etc. Thats for little kids. Like what you want and drive what you want. It doesnt matter how it looks to some little jerkoff that compares it to his/her civic, eclipse, etc. I personally dont like spoilers, body kits, graphics, etc.. but if someone else likes them then more power to them. Even if I think someones car looks like **** I dont expect them to change it for me. It is their car and all based on opinion. Doesnt matter who makes it.

And to those that think they they should have bought a nicer or more expensive car.. why? I could afford more car than a tC.. but personally I love the car, and have an issue spending 30k on a stock car. I would rather spend 18 or so and do what I want with it down the road. Instead of buying a 30k car.. I bought an 18k car I love and bought my fiance a used 4Runner (which used is about the same as buying a tC pricewise ) so we both have vehicles we love. It is all in what you want.

If you like the mods you bought.. keep em and enjoy them. Its your hard earned money, so buy what makes YOU happy. :D

Oh, and about the american cars...They have really dropped in quality overall.. but when I have to do any more work (I am up to $250 total in repairs so far) to my saturn with 170k miles on it I will let ya know :D

The key to the TYC taillight is the "eddnog style" from The Overlay Guy. Then they look great on any color tC.

Here is another post to add to the I dont care what other people think because I would have to agree that everyone that hates on something whatever it is, is just jealous of what you have.

I love my TC and actually traded down from a Tundra to get this car. (Gas mileage was killing me!!! and no longer have the need to tow anything) Even the salesperson looked at me like I was crazy, but I had looked into other cars that were more expensive and just could not pass up the value that you get with a TC, as well as the platform to make it what you want. Therefore I say just get whatever car you want and let the haters keep on hating!

I feel ya! Got the same from dealer personnel and others. I've had mine for over a year now and still love it. Way more fun than the ram was. Nicer at the pumps too.

one question.....do YOU!!! like the car with the options you chose??? If not, change the options...you'll be missing out on a great car if you dump the whole deal.

As far as being "car smart", I'm almost positive you'll be able to find people in your area that can help you out with doing the work yourself. Just look around. ....Get the car

p.s. - I have the ped. spoiler, and I like that way the car looks...maybe a little overkill, but certainly not RICE or completely out of place.

I think of it as "gumbo" rather than "rice."
At my age I don't care what anybody thinks about my car as long as they get outta my way!

Thats your fault for not taking your time tho.
I honestly think that if someone gets every little option from the factory...something isn't gonna look right.
