I never fill my tank all the way up :D. One time I went to get gas and the hose had a hole in it and it squirted gasoline everywhere :O. Some jerk before me punctured a hole in the rubber hose.

it's funny that this post was brought up. just last week, i was filling up gas and the gas attendant guy started to pump more gas after the gas pumper had already clicked. so right when he went to pump in some more, i had to yell out the window and told him to stop.

i mean come on, gas is already expensive enough, and yet, he's trying to put worthless pennies of gas into my tank to round the price off to the nearest dollar. well guess what, he sucked at it anyways. he tried to stop at $43.00 but went over 2 cents. i'm still mad about that!

$43.02 on gas! can you believe that? it's ridiculous! i did get 27.1 mpg though. i did about 75-80% highway with cruise control at 65-70 mph.

not only does oregon not let you pump your own gas, dont try eaither!!! i found out the hard way that it is a $500 fine for doing so! Also its not that it is an outdated policy, but it has to do with making more jobs for the state. Although i do agree its ___ since i go to oregon about one a month when i am at my house in ID.

what gets me the most is people who top off when using a credit/debit card... does rounding up really matter when its pulled straight from your account?

This is good info though!!! Thx for the post!

$500 fine!? i didn't know that. hmm.. cuz there are many times where i'm just so tempted to pump up my own gas because the attendants are so slow. there'd be like 3 cars and i'll be sitting in my car with my hand out for like 15 minutes before someone gets to me. and then after i got my gas, i'd sit there for another 15 minutes waiting for someone to pull the pumper out.

The cellphone warning is funny. There are warnings on all pumps in CA to turn off cell phones and other electronic devices before fueling, despite the fact that there is no evidence of cellphones being dangerous. I don't know who came up with this idea, but it's totally bogus. I guess someone was holding a cellphone when they experienced electrostatic discharge and started a fire, so they naturally blamed the cellphone. I use my cellphone every time I am waiting for the tank to fill up. I get some pretty severe static discharge when I wear certain fleece jackets, but it has nothing to do with having a cellphone or not.

Okay, to prevent spillage, this is the preferred method to fully top off your tank with out spilling any on your paint or the ground.
You just have to remember which side of the car your tank is on!!

anyways, so moral lesson in all of this, boys and girls, is never top off your gas tank. Or else this will happen (see pic above).
