Default Dealerships and their Curse

i took my car into the dealership to claim some rattling going on in the sunroof shade and somewhere in the center console near the clock area. i drove about 5 miles to the dealership and i heard both rattles clearly. when one of the technicians drove it, he said he couldn't find any and that shocked the hell out of me. so he took me for a spin and oddly enough, i couldn't hear it too. so when i got back into my car to go back home, guess what???? i heard the rattles. ain't that something??????

It could have something to do with temperature. Rattles are usually worse when the car is cold and parts are contracted. When they expand, the rattles can disappear.
For example, my Tacoma had a terrible rattle in the dash. It was the clearance between the defroster duct and the dash panel. I bought the truck in May, and never heard anything until about October when it started getting cold out.
They had a TSB for it and a fix kit, which made it somewhat better.

It can also be due to the road. Did you & the tech listen for it on the same roads at the same location you heard the rattles? If not, try again.

haha, it doesn't happen on a specific road, it happens everywhere. but ever since the technician stepped in, the rattle is gone.

i really LOVE my scion TC.. but i really hate the Toyota Dealership here in Wilmington NC. they are a bunch of idiots.. thats all i gotta say about them. you bring your car in for a service.. and u get ur car back with a scratch. its happened to me 2 times. i brought my car in for the recall and then they broke my rubber lining that meets the top of the front windshield and the wind deflector. and the Service Director there.. his name is Brian Flick... .. he is also a moron. thanks for letting me vent lol
