i believe as long as you haven't started using it, you can get a refund for it, or cancel it. since it hasn't been three years yet, i think you can still do it. unless you added it into your financing at contract signing, in that case, you'll have to take it up with whomever you financed with and how they would handle it, since it is a signed contract. i also know that if you didn't get it, you can always add it on before your standard warranty expires. same price in either case.

its like 900 bucks for 4 more years of coverage or 72k miles, cheap investment if you ask me, think about all the seals involved in the sunroof, etc, there is alot to go wrong with a tC in its old age.

did you get the extended service agreement aka the "extended warrantee"
if you did then depending on which one you purchased...
it might be worthy of your time and money to keep it.
i already went through the phase of getting back my 1,300 dollars
but the ESA is transferable just incase you sell your car early
and that keeps the value of the car up...
it also covers alot of things..
mine has free towing and rental up to 5 days
and some other things..
and you can actually mod your car
as long as the product you put on was installed correctly
and does not blwo anything in your engine
which it should not if it is installed correctly...
i am still a little weiry on installing new parts...
but right now im planning on stickgin to bolt on bolt off

good luck with your decision... and have a anice day

PS> if you really think about it
its only an extra $20 a month..

have a nice day

however, how long do you think you will stick with geico? insurance rates go up and down, and for me geico was MORE expensive than progressive. and for the life of them, geico could not explain to me why their premium was $400 more expensive. i said "yea... right.." and when he said "umm....", i said "thankyou, goodbye"

point is, if you leave geico, i don't think progressive or any othe rinsurance has something similar. at least teh extended warratny will stay with you for 4 more years.

also, you can mod anything in your car and the dealer can't claim that mod broke your car. they have to prove that it broke or damaged your car. its the law, not just a statement in the extended warranty. i've already installed a remote starter/alarm, so my liability deals with the electrical and starter motor. other than that, they'll have to prove my remote starter killed my starter motor (if it ever does). i think by then, my extended warranty would have expired already.

I used to work in the service dept. of a Toyota dealership.

And I will NEVER buy an extended warranty. They don't cover everything on the car. Read the fine print. I can't tell you how many times I had to tell a customer that the extended warranty company "declined" coverage on the repairs. Even if they do cover the repairs, sometimes you are responsible for the diagnosis fee and/or deductible.

Um, sorry to revive this thread, but I just wanted to point one thing out...

You guys do know that an extended warrantee begins on the day you buy it, NOT at the end of the original warrantee right? It's called "extended" because it extends the number of items that are covered, not (necessarily) because it extends the period of coverage.

Seems like some of the posters in this thread think that their ESA will begin on the day that the original warranty ends, which ain't true.
