Default flat tire help

I have a 2005 Scion tC with just over 3100 miles on it. 2 nights ago I realized the driver's side rear tire on my tc was flat. I was very surprised because the tire pressure sensor light never came on on my dash. I filled the tire up with air so I could drive home ( I was very close). The next day I called a dealership to see if I could get my first oil change and get the tire patched. They said no problem. I brought the car in and I mentioned that the tire needed patched and the service consultant said that they couldn't patch Z rated tires. He tried to sell me a new tire. Needless to say, I only got my oil change done. I went over to a nearby Goodyear to see if they would patch the tire for me when they pulled the tire off the rim they noticed the inside of the tirewall had begun to wear down (apparently it had been flat for a while and I drove on it without knowing). They said they couldn't patch because it was unsafe to drive on which I understood and told me to talk to the dealer. I called the service dept at the dealer (the one I bought it from, not the one that I just got my oil change done at), and explained to them the situation, and asked them what could be done. They said the only option was for me to buy a new tire and that it was not covered under warranty even though I have owned the car for 2 months and the tire sensor never came on.

Any suggestions of where I go from here? I really don't want to have to buy a new ridiculously priced tire to match the Potenza RE92s I already have on their but I need to get this fixed soon. Thanks

Is this the number you are referring to: 1.866.70.SCION ?? I found it on the scion.com website referred to as the Scion Customer Experience line. thanks

the potenza should be covered under a separate warranty through bridgestone. check out the warranty booklet from bridgestone about the tire warranty

Not wanting to rain on the parade here, but did you set the tire pressure monitor when you got your car? I wouldn't be suprised if they say that was your responsibility....BUT, I hope I am wrong. Good luck!

that sucks but unfortunately even though you have owned the car for 2 months, that doesnt mean that you cannot run over a nail. It could have happend on the way home the night you got the car. Tires are one of those things that you cannot prevent. And like the poster above, did you set the pressure?
