I have most of you beat (cept maybe the the Loser Cruiser... that's harsh). I had a Dodge Caliber for a rental when my tC was in the shop. OMG... CVT and all. I wanted to drive it into a wall right after I took it off the lot.
Toyota gave me a Slorolla S when my car went into he shop. That was a nutless wonder. The Honda Element I drive for work is pretty bad too. No power and it corners like it is going to fall over. Body roll galore.
You want to hear a crappy rental???
My accident, I got a HHR. Yup, I couldnt find anything nice to say about that pile of crap. Had 15 miles on it and it was junk. Rode like junk, ran like junk, didnt even have the new car smell!!!

best rented car - Cadillac Escalade (rented this when gas was like 2 bucks a gallon)
worst rented car - PT Cruiser (omfg - i hated this thing)
other cars i have rented - Pontiac Gran Prix, Chevy Cobalt, Honda Accord

hHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA
i got a VW BEETLE as my last rental.
by far the worst thing i have been in. I would rather tie up a radio flyer to a pickup truck and get towed in it to work.
time before that, I had a chevy aveo, this thing was a joke. I could prob beat off and ejaculate faster then this thing gets to 60mph

I never rented a car. I guess you can say the tC is my "rental", because when my ZX needed repairs, I bought the tC, lol
Geez, hitting the freeway was a nightmare today. I had my foot in it, and I barely floated past 45 by the time I had to merge into traffic. This thing sucks! And I also realized today that the odo reads in KM and the thermostat reads in celsius. Go figure.
OH! And it took my 3 or 4 tries to get the thing to turn over today! Its practically a brand new car, and it sputters and coughs on start ups more than my 33 year old El Camino! Thank God this car is going back today!

SOmehting to think about with the fusion:
The base 2.3-liter four-cylinder Fusion creates 160 horsepower and 156 pound-feet of torque, while the optional 3.0-liter V6 delivers 221 horsepower and 205 pound-feet of torque. It weighs 3280lbs.
Thats VERY comparable to a tC!!!!!!!!!
But the Fusion does suffer in times:
Ford Fusion SEL V6 - 3.0L DOHC (221 hp)
0-60= 7.47
Quarter=15.78 @92.30 MPH
Ford Fusion SEL - I4 2.3L (160 hp)
0-60=9.36
Quarter=17.27 @82.50 MPH

I'm pretty sure rental companies are solely responsible for keeping the American car industry alive. I don't know anyone who has actually purchased an American car, but whenever I need a rental, usually about 95% of the rental fleet consists of Fords and GM brands.
My last four rentals have been a Chevy Malibu, Chevy Impala, Pontiac Grand Prix, and Chevy Impala again. These are all cars that I would never consider buying in a million years. I chose the Impala a second time because it was the best of a bad bunch, but it still sucked. The funny thing is, when I took the Impala to Seattle, almost every other car in the hotel parking lot was an Impala too. I might see one Impala per day on the road, but I saw 40 at one time in the hotel parking lot (all with rental plates). GM would be f*cked without its rental company partnerships.
