Default gear whine and rattle during acceleration

I ask the first two questions because if other ppl notice it too its probably just inherent in the design and Im not going to have it looked at by the shop.

I drive in the garage alot, and I noticed that first gear has noticeably more gear whine/noise than the others. During decceleration, or like coasting at 30 while engaged in 1st (imagine if you accelerated in 1st and just pushed in the clutch while the car is still spinning the tranny), there is like a whining. Its not the clutch spinning, cuz when coasting at 50 with 2nd engaged and clutch pushed in, I can't hear the same whining noise.

Also, in 3rd, 4th or 5th, when accelerating and at around 2-2.5k rpm there is like a faint mettalic rattling, I'm thinking its the exhaust somewhere and im going to like strap screw a steel pipe connecting strap around different locations on the exhaust pipe after the header to try to locate it by seeing if the noise stops when I have the strap around different locations on exhaust, and touching the various exhaust heat shields around the header, I'd assume this would change the natural frequency of whatevers vibrating.

And also, my moonroof rattles now going over bumps, not just over driveways when the body is torqued. Thanks for your help if you pay attention next time and notice these things.

*Positive responces please, I'm studying engineering at UC Berkeley and I have a good background about all the mechanical aspects, but I don't know if my problems are isolated or if some other manual transmission drivers notice it in their TC, thats why im asking.

yeeeah this happend to my friend, you probably have scolded oil bearings, your valve clearence is going bad and about to collide, or you have knocked your timing out of place. but um, you might want to look at your gear shift points and learn how to shift a stick, yes there's no shift light, but go by your ears. or be like me and get a nice 5 inch blackfaced reverserd FAZE Gauge Tachometer...buddy hooked me up with one, b/c he's sponsered

as for your moonroof i have the same problem, still working on that.

how many miles u have on your car? do these sounds occur when your tranny fluid has warmed up? have you wore in your syncrons yet?

if you answered yes and over 2000 miles, then it is something normal just thought to be a problem.
