Default This is going to sound really dumb....

...but I guess I have to let it out...

Well I was reading the instructions on the cai install (pretty straight forward) and it calls for removing the tire. Now I have no issues on removing it and putting it back on. Heck I helped people on the side of the road with flat tires and etc. However after reading some posts that there tire fell off while driving kind of got me a bit nervous - like "is this going to happen to me" type of ordeal.

I don't have a torque wrench or anything else like that (esp when I am with a old lady on the side of the road). I just make it as tight as I possibly can without going nuts. I should be fine right?

yeah. why even take off the tire? just turn the tire inwards and pull back the plastic cover.

yeah, youll be fine, and wrost comes to wrost, drive on it for a day, then get out and make sure all the lugs are still tight, youll be surprise how much torque is req and what most people tighten it too, im sure youll tighten it more then it needs without knowing, unless your a 11 year old school boy that plays chest..haha

but seriously, just take it off, it makes it easier to pull the wheel and the entire piece of liner then trying to work around it, take it from me, i have done it about 8 times now and the first i tried to be lazy...never again

If you are too scared to do anything, you will never do anything.
Take of the wheel, put it back on and tighten it a good amount.
If you hear a noise while driving (turn the music off for a day...) check your studs immediately.

tire falling off? you gotta be pretty dumb to not tighten those lugnuts at all for that to happen...

or heheh... forget to put them on at all, either.

As weeloTC said, most people end up overtightening their lugnuts as opposed to not making them tight enough. Just try your best to make sure they are tight enough and then later on in the day (or after driving) check for tightness.

At worst, although I know you may not want to, you could buy a cheap impact gun that is aimed just for taking/removing tires (Goodyear makes a decent one) they have enough torque to ensure it is tight (though in most cases slightly overtightened) and it makes it a lot easier when taking tires off. You could always go buy a torque wrench as well, by far one of the most useful tools I've purchased in the past few years.

seriously, i don't think you have anything to worry about. Torquing a wheel does not need to be as precise as, lets say, torquing a strut. Just make sure it's an there pretty tight and you'll be ok. like farberio said,
