Default hey need some advice from fellow scion tc owners!! troubleshooting

hi,

I needed help figuring out how to fix it this problem im having with my tc an figured other tc owners could help. Ive noticed that when i drive my tc an i have my cel connected to aux an playing music an stepping on the gasan u can hear a whistle/squeaky sound near steering wheel! but if i let go off the gas or mute music it will stop! and also this does NOT occur when im listening to radio or CD.

ANY ideas what it is???

It's interference with whatever device you are using it happened in my gen1 tc just Bluetooth your device to the radio and problem solved

I've never had the issue
Show a dealer. Let them repair wherever the interference may come from

This is related to a grounding issue with the car. I have the same problem when using my Sirius radio. If the mini jack connector is not connected exactly right, the whining is there. My issue has more to do with the Sirius radio. I have found that when this happens while using the output of my cell phone that if I have my cell plugged in and charging via the cigarette light these issues go away. Also wiggling and twisting the cable in the connector helps.

There is definitely something weird with the aux in and grounding.

Is this the first time you are seeing the flashing maintenance light? The light usually goes of after about 5000 miles. It is telling you to schedule your maintenance. After a while it will go solid. Check your mileage and cross reference it with the maintenance schedule to see what is needed.

You're due for an oil change. That's what that light means.

Scion tC2 is 2011+

tC1 is years before that, including your 2006.

Thread moved. Good luck and hope you find your solution.

yes... tC1 2006-2010, tC2 2011+

your maint. req. light will blink at 4500 miles since it was reset last and will stay solid when it reaches 5000 miles since it was reset last. (goes for both tC1 & tC2)

As far as the wining goes, I was having that same issue just last week. I swapped out my auxiliary cable, and the issue disappeared.
