Default High Mileage Peeps? Short amount of time...

Ok, so I'm sure there are some of you tC Owners driving like mad in your tCs everywhere and anywhere... thing is... what would you suggest as far as maintenance if your mileage is above the time it usually takes for people to put the miles on. I would imagine you don't need everything always checked out while you're getting a service maintenance performed maybe more the mechanical equipment. For one you know how there are engine flushes and fuel injection cleanouts and stuff at places like jiffy lube. Are these really necessary if you have high mileage in a short amount of time? I would imagine it's more so when 'time' has past, and sediments / residue can settle in your car's parts therefore requiring a better flushing. Let's base this on an tC, hypotehtically hint hint, speaking of course lol, having 23,000 miles and was purchsed in the beginning of July too fun too fun lol

typically people state: 1 yr = 15,000 mi
which is ~ 1250 / month

half a year = 7500

Any ideas? I basically don't want the dealer trying to con me into getting services which should be performed when the card has actually 'aged' more so the 20k, 25k or 30k checkup... Don't worry I'm not the only bad one hehe I know people who lease cars / trucks and stick nearly 30k / yr ! lol

I feel ya on the miles! I have had myne since october, and I've got 13k on it. Its a hard car not to drive! Anyway, I would just wait a little until you think it needs maintence...think months, not miles. They tryed to tell me that I need a bunch of crap done, but I said no way. I will wait until my next oil change or something.

Yeah I think I will wait till say a year for the year maintenance.. or at least maybe 30k miles or something.. question has anyone found a site which tells blue book values of the '05 tC? I can't find one in the event I ever wanted to sell mine knowing its got alot of miles.. I want to see how that affects resale value of a reliable auto.
thx

I got my car in November and I got 14K on it runs like new. I put in Mobil One Full Synth Oil and Prolong oil additives since its first oil change and fuel system cleaners every 3K miles and it seems to make my car run smooth and like new. Im going to wait till my next oil change and bring it in for there 15k Miles car service and have it inspected and the works. Its like $154 not too bad.

Where do you get the prolong oil additives? I did mobile one for my first oil change.. haven't done it since.. is it highly recommended? those oil changes here go for a good 40-50 bux though... What will you do for your 20k , 25k or 30k milestones?

Dude you're using all those oil/fuel additives on a new car, not wise. You could be doing more harm than good, plus why use an oil additive with Mobil1 Full Synth?
