That looks like a puncture, like something metal went through at a high rate of speed, not a stone... the break is so clean.

No, I'm not a CSI, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night....

I agree, it's definitely a puncture like someone backed into it with a trailer hitch or something. A rock that size would have to traveling mighty fast to puncture a bumper, a lot faster than any rock falling of a truck. You would have heard a rock do that kind of damage too.

Looks like a classic hit n run to me. Oh and unless you have like a $0 deductible on your insurance I wouldn't report it. Insurance companies are just looking for ways to raise your rates or even worse, drop you altogether. Also small claims will make it harder for you to get decent rates in the future. I know from experience, that and I have family that work for State Farm.

Sorry to see that nasty injury to your tC.

I would get the bumper replaced.

Unlike the others, I'm not sure what would cause that.
It could be several things.

Good Luck!

for small chips one should invest in that clear guard thing, I'm thinking about getting one. Anyone have any ideas on how much that costs?

if not i would not just cover it up, i would get it fixed JMO

About 200 bucks for the front bumper.

Then another 300 for the hood.

Although, it is cheaper than the 800.00 protector coat the dealership offers.

Ok so here's the deal. I talked to the dealership and they won't cover it under warranty, which is what I figured in the first place. They all thought it was a hit n run. Apparently it's in a pretty good spot for someone with a trailer hitch to back into me and run away before I got a chance to get my hands on them and wring their little neck. Anyway... I talked to my important issues advisor (aka DAD) and he said that I should call the insurance company and see if it would be covered under collision or comprehensive. If it's covered under collision I probably won't claim it cuz it'll just raise my rates in the end and I'll still have to pay my $250 deductible. He said that if I sweet talk them I might be able to have it under comprehensive since I don't know what hit it and it very well could have been road debris. If they'll do that then I'm gonna claim it and have the whole bumper replaced probably since I most likely won't have to pay the deductible.

Anyway, Thanks for everyone's advice... and yes, if I ever get money I will get a body kit to cover it anyway. But I don't see me getting a decent chunk of $$ for a while
