how do i reset maintenence light?

how do i reset maintenence light?

when i hit 5000 miles the maint reqd light came on, i assume as a oil change warning. i got the oil change, but not at toyota and the light is still on. anyone know of a rest button or something? i know it's prolly in the manual, but i'm at work and bored so enlighten me.

Yes it is in the manual. AND it is about 8 posts below yours. If you are not going to search at least read all the topics on the FIRST page.

MAINTENANCE LIGHT RESET

I got my HotLava (377) on 30 March...and now already have 18,000 miles....so I've seen this light a few.

The Owner's Manual has it covered....
--Engine Off, Key on
--go to Odo setting on the dash instrument
-- hold RESET and turn key off and back on....release the reset at the right moment...ah, shucks...something like that.

The Owner's Manual is the answer.

Page 95 in your owners manual. The section starts on page 93. Read the book it is not that bad and this and other neat things the car can do are explained.
