where'd you go?? If your anywhere near Rancho Santa Margarita bring it over to Toyota RSM. They've fixed every little thing ive had with my car and no problems from them. Now my car is completely stock or scion genuine accesories so that could be why i havent had an issue with them but there great over here i really recommend going to them if thats not who you've already gone 2 see.

If it is just your HVAC unit lights that are out, tell them they need to check the control unit that holds all of the wires together back there (sort of looks like a naked ECU. I took mine into the dealer with the same problem (no mods done at all). Service guy told me they are having a lot of these come in and are not fixing them but replacing them completely so they can send the broken ones back to toyota to fix. If you need a part # I can post it up here off of the service sheet I got.

If you still have your stock stuff, just return the car to stock and take it to another dealership.

I would try the headunit first, take it to another dealership. If that doesn't work, then have the aftermarket security system taken out and take it somehwere else. At that point, I wonder if it would just be cheaper to pay the dealership to fix it? Probably not. Maybe if you can prove that the security system/head unit is not part of the problem, you should contact an attorney.

about that warranty deal. Its a law that the dealership can't void your warranty on a specific issue unless they prove what you did to the car affects whats broken... ie. your head unit is the soul cause of your hvac problem. So if you wana take it back there and get it in writing that they said they wont warranty it b/c of the head unit or alarm. You can use it against them b/c they didn't prove it

tell the person who installed the HU/alarm to fix it since (assuming) it broke after he installed those items...

they changed the design of the hvac control board on the 07's.. I remember enginfineer talking about it before.

Looks like when they changed the design they resulted in these defects happening. And for Toyota to say "oh we don't know about it" is just more mis-truth, oh yeah, a lie. lol They know all about it, many 07 tC's are having this happen, a lot!

I had the LEDs behind my HVAC go out about 1.5 months ago and of course I had an aftermarket headunit. I did some research on the forums, put my stock headunit back in and took it to the dealer. The part was backordered for a couple of weeks but it was just replaced last week and its good as new.

for what its worth the toyota tech told me alot 07's were having this problem and they were NOT giving people a hard time who had aftermarket head units... this was Boch Toyota in southern Massachusetts. thought i would pass this along.
