www.bluebatmobile.com

it's a vinyl overlay you attatch to the light, easy to do and if you screw up he'll sell you another set at a discounted price.

In january i did mine with vht nightshades. I loosed the rear bumper cover screws from the top and removed both tailights. Took some very fine sandpaper I forget what grit exactly. I wet sanded the tails to remove the factory gloss and made a nice smooth surface to paint on. Then I put a couple coats of the spray tint and waited a few hours and installed them. They came out great. Most people think they came that way from the factory. Still look just as great today.

I agree, that's how you do them. Or you can also use black "tint" paint made by Testors that can be bought at most hobby stores. "Real" smoked tails look way better than the vinyl overlays. I know because I've had both. They'll have wrinkles, bubbles, and you can still tell they're overlays from looking at them.
