Default I never thought this could happen.

So I got into an accident with my IIP 05 Tc, nearly stock. Injen ses, and twm stage 2 ss.

It was on Memorial Day, at around 11:40 pm.
I went on a back road, awesome pavement, drove this same road since I was 16. I was driving fine, not speeding, went into a downward sloping banked curve turning to the left. I went into the turn without speeding, then out of the corner of my eye a raccoon decides to jump in front of my passenger tire causing my back end to do a 180 degree turn in mid-air (figured this out because my thread marks just dissapear for a bit) then I land on the other side of the road and land on a steep slope. The car slowly starts to roll down this 25ft hillside.

I was wearing my seatbelt. I didn't get any injuries, all happenned reletively slow. I am saddened that I did something to cause harm to my Tc, and I am dissapointed at the outcome.

I hit about 33k and was waiting to hit 35007k, you know so I could make a thread stating my Tc was no longer a virgin, but officially LOOSE. Get it? 35007 upside down spells loose...lol

Damn, my insurance totalled it, and I am waiting to see what they are going to offer me for my car.

I have a feeling you will hate raccoon's for the rest of your life.

Sorry to hear about the accident.

Hopefully they give you enough to replace your car or atleast get something that you want. If you have the stock parts ****** the aftermarket ones off the busted car so you can put them on your new Tc if you pick one up.

What damage was there? Your insurance totaled it 'cause you did a 180 and ended up on a slope?

they are holding value well, so you should get an appropriate total offer. make sure to look closely at the comparison vehicles they used to decide the settlement offer. they often try to use comparison vehicles that are like comparing apples to oranges. you don't have to agree to the amount offered. remember, they are your insurance company. insurance companies don't have a duty to deal in good faith with opposing parties but they have a duty to deal in good faith with their own insured. (basically, what this means is the law says they can't screw over their insured but can try and screw over anyone else). sometimes a letter that illustrates how they aren't comparing actual value properly works to get the total offer raised. use kbb.com and auto trader to find similar vehicles if the offer is too low.
(and if you need to write a letter to get a better offer use the term "you have a duty to deal with me in good faith".)
disclaimer: the above post does not constitute "legal advice". i'm speaking from experience.
good luck.
oh, btw, in ca, an animal on the roadway cannot take you out of preferred driver insurance status like a fixed object (a branch, etc.) could. check with your ins. co., as well.

I always wondered what would happen in that situation. "Hitting a animal going around a corner" Hopefully the insurence comp doesnt try to screw you over. Hope you stay in the Scion fam though.

dang critters, glad to hear your ok though.

here's something you could check into, once they give you the amount for the car buy your tC back and part out everything thats intact, then sell the car to a scrap yard. extra side money for mods on the next ride
