Default Low cost tC possible?

I am thinking about selling my car and buying a tC. My budget would consist of however much I got for my car. Which should be atleast $8,000. So is it possible to get a used tC in good condition for around $9,000 - $10,000? Your help is appreciated.

P.S. - I am SOO jealous of those who do own a tC!!

Finding a used TC for 9,000-10,000 could be quite hard. They have good resale value from what i understand...

Since the oldest you can get is an '05 tC, you would be cutting it close..

The only way your gonna find a Scion TC for 9-10k is if your lucky and find a private seller that low...but i think most '05s will trade in for more than 10k so i would be hesitant to buy one(lemon?) from a private seller for that cheap..

It will be hard to find a tC with $9k~10k
I've seen a $9.999 tC on autotrader.com about a month ago but it was a salvaged title...
Good luck with buying a tC!

Most tC's hold their value at around at least 15k, considering all things, this is dirt cheap for the quality of car you're getting. If you're looking to go that cheap, I doubt you will find a tC. That's just my .02

the only one i saw around that price was a salvage title also. when i went to buy mine it only cost me 1k more to get a brand new one as apposed to one with 33k miles and chipped to hell. the dealer wouldnt go below 15.5 =]

Yep... you won't find a quality used tC for that.... no way in hell.... Finance a new one, or look elsewhere!

I was looking for a used one. Gave up because the cheapest was like $12000 with 30k mi.
Most were about $15-$16000.
I'm better off getting a virgin for only a bit more.

hmm... only way you'll get a used tC under $10K is probably from the junkyard at an auction..

unless it's a private sale and the previous owner is dumb, the car is messed up.. or other reasons.

I went on kelly blue book and looked up how much it would be for an 05 tc with 32,000 miles (thats how many mine has on it) in excellent condition the price was around 14 grand. In good condition it was about 11,500. Just thought i would put in my 2 cents.

Any chance I could get either a xB or a Lancer in that price range?

i was in that same boat wanting to get a tc but only wanting to spend about 10k cause thats how much i sold my car for... well i found one it was white and it was for 11.3k well called the guy and yeah salvage title....so i came to realize it would be better to buy a brand new one with that amt down on one... if you know someone at a dealership....what i did was an "in and out" deal.... they never saw my car but i traded it in....and so there is the trade in value and then we had someone that wanted to buy the car for 10k and they bought it from the dealership but he also had a dealers license and so he did not have to pay tax.... check in on that....i ended up with an 07 tc...and loving every minute of it.
