Man this suck!!! I just got my tC for not even a month yet and what did I see in my headlight this morning? Moist/water in my right side headlight! I checked for cracks or any kind of hint where water could get in and nada/nothing. It has been raining everyday for almost two weeks in Houston now. It's also very humid down here too. So, I'm pretty sure that both of that combine had something to do with this.

Here's my question to you fellas... Is there a way to get rid of this or should I just take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. If I do take it back, should I take out all of my Luminics low beam lights and my accent LED lights so they won't blame it on that? Or better yet, try to void my warranty because of the bulbs and LEDs. What you fellas think?

 

if you put LEDs in the housings, the seal around them probably isn't very good, which could cause the condensation. I wouldn't be worried about the low beams, though.

 

thats why you have condensation... your bulbs dont have a good seal in the housing... theus the moisture... yeah take em out... but the stock stuff back in, tack it back, have them replace the lights... and leave the stock stuff in... that way youll avoid little problem like this...

 

My fault for not explaining clearly. The LED was just put in about 30 minutes ago. I spotted this problem yesterday morning not this morning. I took the picture around 6:30 PM and put the LED around 7:30 PM.

 

then why install new equipment in a busted piece...

 

Good question teksno. It's one of those things that your just receive your new stuff that you just order so you want to install it. Plus, it look bad @ss at night.

Anyway, I guess the answer is take everything back out and bring it to the dealership huh? No other simple way to resolve this? As in do it your self simple way?

 

not one that i could fathom... you have a leak somplace... you probably need new OEM housings... and this time leave the stock stuff in...

 

I had the same problem when I lived in southern California. I just moved to Las Vegas and as my wife followed me while I drove the U-Haul I watched the water evaporate over 2 or 3 hours. Its 116 degrees right now with 10% humidity and my lights are as dry as can be.

 

do tC lights have a history of seals cracking or anything? even a minor crack can lead to condensation. if scion won't do anything about it, I guess u could drill a hole in the bottom of the housing, to let the trapped air/moisture out. that's what we've done on a couple of my buddies' mustangs. or just get new OEM housings..

 

i have had the same problem, 3 diff times...

im taking to ANOTHER dealer to have them look at it again..

its the luminic bulbs... the seal on the bulb is incorrectly sealed... i had the same problem

 

I don't think it's the lumicic bulbs either because I put the my low beam and the LED on after it happen. Also, why is it just the one side of my headlights? that's what I'm confuse about.

 

Maybe one bulb has a better seal than the other, if you install an after market bulb what you can do is put some silicon around the seal so that water doesnt get in the bulb.

 

Ok question then.... I have the aftermarket halo and i got water in my driver side going through a car wash... week after i installed them.... What the hell are the 4 holes in the back of the headlight housing then? i believe only 2 on the stock housing... Do i cap those? Would that stop condisation or water in my housing?

 

 

Take it in. My dad had the same prob. a month after he bought his car (Ford). They replaced the headlight.

 

try sprinkling some silica gel inside

 

I have had condensation in my driver's side light for about 2 months now and I have never touched the housing.

 

if its oem and unmodded, get e-m replaced and ask the keep the old. That way you can retro!
