I've never been pulled over for the windshield tint. Even when I got pulled over for the side windows, the cops didn't notice the tinted windshield.

I noticed your photoshoot post earlier. Your tC is actually a lot like mine. Weird. By the way, what's up with the plastic above the side windows? Some kinda sun shade or for keeping the rain off or something? I've seen it in pictures before, but I've never seen that on the road in California. Must be a regional thing.

vent visors aka vent shades? are you serious? lol man like 50% of vehicles around here have them... pretty nice b/c u can keep the windows cracked and let the heat vent out without worrying about rain etc, some are inchannel like mine, and some are on the actually outside seal itself like on my jeep...

no intent to thread jack, but just to clarify ur question...

deff not sex on wheels, but a good start, and i agree with the rest that dark a tint on the windshield is deff dangerous!!!

its not illegal because the cops cant see inside, otherwise the rear would be illegal to, because idk what kind of cops youve seen but around here they always pull you over from behind.

its illegal because it blocks out a lot at night.

I had a neon with limo tint everywhere and 20% on the windshield, (not done by me, previous owner was from vegas) It was a pain in the ___ to drive at night, good thing i had a crack in it and had to change it out.

i never tinted windshields again.

Hmmm, interesting about the vent shades. I guess they are more popular in places where it rains more often.

As for the windshield, the cops told me that dark tint was illegal simply because they need to see inside the car. I'm not talking about your typical pull-over situation. If a chase terminates, for example, and the suspect remains inside the car, the cops look from all different angles to get any information they can. They need to know if that suspect is armed, how many suspects are present, and so on. They look from the sides, the front, and through the windshield from the air via the helicopter. It is incredibly dangerous for the cops to be facing a suspect who can see them, but they can't see him.

its illegal because the police need to see the drivers face clearly. thats why back and rear windows ok, but front and windshield not ok. When they pull you over, they cant see your face from behind anyway. They need to see your face when they walk up to the vehicle and when youre driving around. At least thats what the cop told me. it has to do with seeing what the driver is doing.
