Default Never have I had such luck...

So I was on here last Friday venting about an 18-wheeler driver rolling back into me on the interstate (on top of me smashing into someone on the same interstate in March who did a 180 right in front of me)

Well, tonight, I got a speeding ticket for doing 55 in a 40 on a practically deserted road because some jackass behind me is riding my tail (I'd rather speed up to get them off my tail than risk them hitting me). The officer was cool and recognized why but he's like, "sorry, I couldn't get both of you."

What luck!!! I'm 23 and never got a speeding ticket until now. I don't drive insanely fast, but I go with the crowd (which if anyone on here knows I-285 in Atlanta, you know we don't drive the 55 posted speed limit. You get run all over if you don't drive at least 75)

ouch, sorry to hear that. I also hate tailgaters...as for me, I'd always slow down just to annoy him and make him overtake me...no hell i'm moving to the right for him

Yeah, I used to slow down or tap on my brakes till I got my new '08 tc. Now I'm too scared of getting it hurt... And, yeah, I was actually in the right hand lane with no one even in the left hand lane.

By the way, about how much will my ticket most likely cost... or does it vary a lot state by state?

It varies by state. What state did you get it in?

No, he told me to wait ten days and call the number on the ticket to get the fine amount.

two ways i find handy for problem drivers like that
hit your hazards then pull over do not stop just crawl till he pass then resume
or my favorite
wash your window if they are too close it will give them the heads up<don't do unless crazier than the person behind you

The ticket will vary by state as mentioned. In MN they are 169 bucks for any speed up to the point where it switches to reckless driving. Where I used to live it was based upon how far over the limit you were going. In some states you can take a driver safety class and keep it off your insurance. Just look up the laws for your sate.

I'm pretty sure that in Texas ... we kindly move over to the right, :p HAHA. Anyways, 15 over shouldn't be too much, here it's based on how much you go over unless you double the speed limit, then you go straight to jail. So I am pretty sure yours should be in the 150 range. I dunno. Texas also varies according to county ... Can you do defensive driving or take deferred adjudication to get it expunged?

Its the same price as the ticket almost, but you keep to keep a clean record!

Here in Cali (before I had my tC), my speeding ticket was $100. ($76 for the ticket, $24 for traffic school.) Just be glad you weren't going 20 mph over the speed limit. That's wreckless driving and your license could be suspended for up to a year as well as a ticket!
