Sorry to hear that, you sound forever debilitated by the infectious center mounted dashboard cluster , hopefully you'll be able to regain strength + proper posture soon!!

Solution: so the body doesn't "naturally angle itself to the center cluster- BUY a Scanguage II , mount it on the steering colum, so when your driving at least 1/2 the time your paying attention to that(not when turning since the steering wheel will be in the way) , vs. paying more attention to the center mounted cluster.

MPG baby ... MPG , there will never be enough MPG !!!!

i was wondering what would be the BEST engine for the new tc...

2.7 four banger with 175 hp??? NO THANKS... anything else??? OH YEAH!!!

how about a 2.5 liter inline six????????
200 hp?? 3rd gen 1jz (vvti) - its still used by toyota!

maybe some upgrade to dual vvti.. 220 hp? it would be SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET

something else??? maybe v6????? same displacement (2.5l)
4GR-FSE = 200hp dual vvti!

or any of these with vvtli version and lots of lots of rpm!!!!

now this would be sweeet.. not a @#@#%@% large four banger with only 175 hp... but we will never get this... toyota wouldnt be that kindly.. IMHO...

+20-30 hp qith bolt ons... 270-280 hp with s/c???
over 400hp turboed safe on stock internals? it would be really sour for the honda boyz...

correction Toyota has discontinue the JZ block after they launched the GR block. The remaining vehicle using the JZ block is discontinue by next gen model. I believe the Mark II Blit was the last one to carry the JZ block since it was discontinue last year and replace with the Mark X Zio with the 2GR-FE motor.

Thanks guys,

Keep on the next gen tC:

- panoramic sunroof
- radio door
- 7 speed HVAC blower motor
- outside temp gauge
- rear independant suspension
- 2.4L DOHC engine or higher with the use of a timing chain. (no timing BELT please)

Dislikes:

- japanese paper textured dash surfaces
- rear antenna location
- no heated side view mirrors
- dead pedal (On manuals, it's too close to the clutch pedal. My experience is too many interferances with it operating da clutch when I wear my big ole Doc Martan's.)
- blind spots (Bulky A pillars obstruct vision when making right turns.)

Things I'd like to see:

- 6 speed trans
- illuminated headlight, wiper, & cruise control switches
- boost gauge built into speedometer on TRD models
- bluetooth equipt standard radio
- radio, XM radio, & GPS antenna built into the tail gate glass
- AWD

Importantly, on behalf of SL, we all would like to see a newly designed stock alloy wheel that's standard on all tCs. (Geez... three and a half years later with no newly design wheelz. And the release series tCs never got new wheel, besides the RS 1.0) It's time for some different standard wheels. Maybe some 18'.

Interior LED color option
Blue Convex Mirrors stock - the tc does have some bad blind spots
factory navigation option w/ bluetooth
Grille upgrades to badgeless or trd
Stubby Antenna
Less rattles
Leather Interior
Pedals are way too close
Getting out of the window to reach an ATM is nearly impossible for a 6 ft guy

These are all relatively cheap mods that many people do, and end up messing up their cars. Would be a very nice option to have manufacturer warranty with these mods and still have a great looking sports car to compete with the si, for example

2AZ is timing chain not a belt.

as far as the a-pillar, it's the same thickness as any other a-pillar out there.

I already know that it uses a timing chain. Go back, reread, and recomprehend the way I posted. I said what I said so Toyota/Scion will not go back to using timing belts for the sake of a quiet running engine. I'd rather have a somewhat rumbling engine with one less maintenance part or repair to worry about in 60K miles.

As for the a-pillars... jeez, its my personal experience on blind spots and I'm giving the OP my personal feedback like he asked. You don't see me trampling on yours or anybodies opinions. Ha! Ha!... R U on a buzz or R U trippin? Not all a-pillars have the same dimensions and thickness as the tCs. Just for you, let me rephrase my post:
"The right A-pillar and right sideview mirror AREA is a blind spot for me"

not sure if anyone has said this but...

- shorten the OVERALL length of the tc... why the hell is it so damn long.. i thought it was a coupe.

- make it lighter... less weight = mpg

- why can't toyota make a 2.0 with vvtL-i?? or even 2.2??? it will definitely give the power boost we are all looking for and the higher rev limit will DEFINETLY be a whole lot funner to drive.

- A lower, sleeker profile... the tc feels a little to tall at times.. but then again im 5'9''

- a more flush fitting of fenders and wheels and wheel wells stock... the gap left between tire and wheel well is hedious.

- a better location of tach... where it is now you can't see it well and its even worse when driving and having to look for the tach read it and drive safely.

- FULL REAR BRAKE LIGHT why the hell is it only about 50% light up? its ugly and STUPID!!!

- tighter suspension

- more supportive seats.. WAY MORE SUPORTIVE!! stock civic dx's have better seats than us!!!! rear seats are ok....

"- shorten the OVERALL length of the tc... why the hell is it so damn long.. i thought it was a coupe. "

u are crazy!!!!!!! every time im backing while checking the side mirrors or the rear view mirror i think: omg.. i might heat the opject behind me becasue i dont know how short my car is...

= OUR CAR IS SHORT! im always haw a LOT of space behind me when im backing up and stop to not to hit anything.

plus shorter car: less interiour.... u know what? our car should be longer by a 1-2 inch. and add that 1-2 inch to the rear pessangers leg room!!!

btw the rear of the car is really roomie!! no head room ( thats the biggest problem with it.. if u are taller than 5. something.. u cant fit in with your head... but the leg room is awesome already.. i dont want less than that..

last time i had to take 3 of my big friends to somewhere.. in EVERYOBE was "comfy" u cant do that even in some 4 door cars....

If you think your tC is decent size / or big enough , well it is considered a "Compact" car = like the Civic , etc.

We xA/xB owners have "sub-compact" cars .... even smaller.

Sounds like the tC is the right size for you then , or maybe move up to a Mid-size car??
Having a 2.4L in a compact car .... is impressive/solid. Given it is compact, like the other forum member stated , why not give it a awesome 2L engine, w/ dual vvt-i , lighten up the car weight to maybe 2700 pounds , make it more aero = will all help with mpg.

i had them in my last car, and it was the BEST when u get in ur car and its 0º the seats r ICE COLD and it sucks... remote start is standard on ALOT of cars BTW

and i forgot 3 more things to add to that list

11 ) keyless entry, like on the Prius, and Nissans, just press on a button on the handle and the car unlocks (gotta have the key on u, or near the car)

12) Push Button Start, like on the Prius and Nissans also

13) Door Handles flush in the B Pillar, or next to the quarter panel... it'll look ALOT cleaner.

i got keyless entry.. came with the car... all of you guys asking stupid things.. you could get that from the dealer RIGHT AWAY... more power? go buy a supercharger.... better suspension? go buy some trd coils.. there is no other car with so many accesories from the dealership...

yeah.. s/c and coils cost a lot.. well.. your car was cheap.. so if u want more power and the better suspension to be standard the car is gonna cost 26k.... is that sounds better for you?????

gosh...
