is it possible to take off the stock axleback and install a universal Apexi N-1 exhaust on using the stock pipes?....or would i have to take off the whole system and get a custom fitting? thank for the input

Apexi N1 mufflers have the tip integrated into the muffler. The stock system has the muffler sideways, and then a pipe and tip that come out, make a 90 degree bend and out the back. You could mount an n1 to the stock piping, but it would be sideways under the car, and the tip and everything would be under the car.

Any muffler shop should be able to bend some pipe and weld a ricecan on. If you want a loud annoying car, then I'm sure they would be more than happy to do that.

The TRD is made to go on the tC. THe Apexis is universal. So the TRD is made to sound good while most universal mufflers have about the same sound, most of the time being a Bee Hive in a coffee can sound AKA Fart Can.

Like I said, stock/TRD doesnt have the tip integrated into the muffler. So you can then run a pipe out from it, make the bend and put a tip on. The N1 and N1 style mufflers may or may not fit, but definately not with the stock piping. Even then, they would probably hang really low and scrape.

The apex'i muffler is about as loud as mufflers get. Remember how much RandD goes into a TRD piece to maximize sounds and performance (still minimal) compared to a cheap muffler just slapped on by Midas.

if all you want is your tc to sound like you have an exhaust, you can get any tip welded on to your factory exhaust... the trd axle back connects at the cat and adds a little bit more horse power but in my opinion not worth it if your planning on boosting soon.... if your going for the basic header, intake exhaust, dont weld on a tip, get the axle back... however if your planning on getting the supercharger, or waiting for a turbo to be realeased, you might as well wait for a full catback to be realesed..... i plan on waiting... scion has done very good with the tc, but in my opinion the accesories they try to add on are over priced and deffinatly not worth purchasing... only thing i would probably get is the carbon fiber valve cover... thats it

TRD axles back does NOT connect to the cat. The cat is up on the header. The axle back is only a small piece that goes to about the rear suspension. Technically there is no axle back there since its not RWD/AWD.

I find this so funny. Weld on a Tip dont Weld on a tip. Really how will something after the muffler change the sound? Also like Nick said the axel back is just a muffler with some pipe. You still have the Stock Manifold Cat, Down Stream Cat & Resonator. They all ready have a full cat back out, its from www.precisionmuffler.com
