Default Problem with license plate LED bulb.

Have had a few rough days this past week and just found another little thing to add to the frustrations... I purchased some LED super white bulbs to replace my license plate bulbs about a month and a half ago and just found out that the driver side bulb has already burnt out... I plugged the stock bulb back in, and it lit up right away. When I took the passenger side LED out, and put it in the other side, it lit up, but didn't click into place like the other side, and had to be in one certain point, otherwise it would not light up. Has anyone had any problems like this? I know it was only a 13 dollar purchase but it still sucks. Does this sound like a bulb problem, or is there something wrong with the connection? I bought the bulbs off of ebay, which is what a lot of people on this forum does. Has anyone heard of anything like this? Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.

leds have polarity...it will only work one way... i think sometimes the leds don't stay in the socket cuz either the socket contacts got widened or the base of the led are made a bit too small...weird but i've seen it...

some led "bulbs" are non-polarized.. meaning they could be placed in either way without worry of polarity..

though typically the circuitry from those things fail and the bulb itself dies much more readily.

Sorry I don't have a picture of my own, but these are the ones I bought, and from this seller:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/194-W...spagenameZWDVW

I did notice that for the bulb that still works I did have to put it in one side vs. the other to have it work, so I think this is what you are referring to as polarity?

Check the metal connectors on the base of the bulb. sometimes they get bent, and it does not get full contact.

You should get a set of these from superbrightleds.com. I've had mine for a year and a half and they're still going strong.

You should buy flank LEDs from VLEDs on ebay. They point straight down to the license plate, and even the ground.
