Thought I had the lowest miles (bought Jan '06, now just over 16k miles), but that's got me beat.

Welcome to SL, enjoy the ride!

Im still not convinced its an '06. I've owned 4 cars in my life (2 celica's, an avenger, and the TC) and 2 of them have had incorrect paperwork. It would be a pain in the ___ to switch the headlights and taillights, but its doable. What really raises a flag is the grille, who the hell would go through the trouble of changing out an 06 grille for an 08 one? They are very similar, prob identical to the untrained eye, and if you are gonna change a grille, why not get an aftermarket one with a TRD logo or something. Something just doesn't add up here. Not saying that's a bad thing, because having an '08 would be awesome, im just saying it doesn't make any sense.

You do bring up very good points. But 1. Car fax showed it as an 06. 2. The Driver side door says it's 06. 3. When i had it serviced at the City Toyota Scion, the original owner actually bought it where i got it serviced and they had it on the system as 06'.
Either way the guy i bought it from hooked me up with a bunch of stuff ie; 08 headlights/taillights, TRD springs, all weather floor mats.
The only real difference now is just the TPMS really

No difference except for head and tailights and maybe the radio depends on wwhat options you and on. My advice is save your money cause i/h/e on the TC don't do squat the hp increase is minimal. I tell people F/I is the best option for our car. Preferably turbo for real fun and reliablity. My sig tells you all.

I agree. I've followed the threads a lot. Majority of the people here favor the turbo instead of i/h/e. The only thing i've done so far is just to the G.F.I. + K&N filter, and i like it so far. As far as i/h/e, it's just something fun to do. I'm 26 so I remember when the whole "ricer/racer/tuner" was blowing up, and at that time i was in high school. Being in H.S. at that time, i/h/e was all we could afford, so it had it's value. I think that's why a lot of people still go that route because it was like the stepping stone of "fixing-up" your car.
When I was doing Dr I's G.F.I it brought back old memories of going to home-depot and making a intake, grills, etc.......hehe
