Yeah my hatch started rattling about 3 days after I got the car... which wasn't really that bad... then at around 1000 miles my moonroof started creaking... The good news is I can simulate the noises by simply tapping on the area where the noises are coming from... that might help the techs solve the problem when I take it in... hopefully :?

The TSB is supposed to cover the "Rattle" and not the "Pop"...I've been told by the service Dept. that the pop is inherent to the roof design...kinda' makes sense to me.

Well, after driving it a bit more last night, and opening the roof a couple of times the rattle seems to have disapeared...There was no rattle on the way into work this morning either...I don't know if the colder weather has anything to do w/ it (35 Deg this morning). Edit - added: The popping seems to be gone now as well

Maybe it just needed to seat prpoerly after it was repaired?

As I've already posted my hatch back rattles to another thread I'll add this here: Has anyone noticed that their hatch has a lot of movement to it when closed? I decided to check if it was closed completely this morning and, after closing it, I pushed down on the "trunk" part of the hatch and there was a good bit of movement as well as some noise (not quite the same but then again that's from the outside).

Yeah. I can't say so much for when I try pushing down on it when closed, but I've seen a few times where I'll close my door and the hatchback will jump a bit.

gosh guys...this kinda information doesn't sound too good to a guy looking at the tC as his next ride. It's sounds like a defect on all the models from what ya'll are saying, not a lemon. I'd like some more information on this.

Scion finally called me back. My rep was off for a few days and no one else could help.

My case has now be escalated to a regional level. Someone from Denver will be contacting me within 48 hours, and they maybe sending a regional tech in to inspect the car.

UPDATE: Still no rattling! The weather warmed up a bit (60 deg) and still no rattling or popping :D ...so far so good...we'll see if it lasts.

Lawyer called today. Suppost to fax all the service records over so they can start the lemon law stuff. I'll get that done in a day or two. Scion corporate is suppost to call within 48 hours, but might as well have a backup plan.

Well its good that you haven't heard anything.. but the fact that you heard it for a bit when you left the dealership kinda worries me that it's just a matter of time before it starts again

Sometimes I wonder if I'm hallucinating..

Everyone in my car has heard my hatchback make noise, so that isn't an issue. Sometimes its worse than others.

But for a week I've heard my moonroof rattle, and my passenger door rattle. Both pretty badly. But when I went to record it with my iPaq yesterday I heard NOTHING when listening to the recording, even though it was loud in the car itself. Now it could be that the ipaq just didn't get it, but..

My mom took a ride with me today so I could show her what i was talking about. The car made no noise in those two spots, at all, the entire 10-15 minute ride. Grr..

the rattle can just be really simple stuff, the chair is not locked into proper position stuff in your door pockets.

I don't have any rattle with my tc im very happy,
BUT i had some weird creaking suspension tho i might have to check that out

I don't have any rattles (thank God), but I have a sqeaking sound that originates from the radio cover that drives me absolutely insane. It's high pitched, and you can hear it when I go over the slightest of bumps. Anyone else have this?

Besides that, my car is like a vault, very quiet.

As posted before, the rattles are strange as they come and go. Seems like once you have a rattle it would ALWAYS be present. Luckily I had the TSB done yesterday and he also did a little more stuff to the moonroof and now it is quiet. Hope it stays that way.

Sometimes the seat belt metal buckle will rattle against the passenger seat side release thingy...you may want to check that out for the passenger door rattle.

My roof is still rattle free 3 days post moonroof TSB fix.

I heard a pop from my sunroof once and every once in awhile you can hear the hatch back rattling some but I have a rattle in the morning ethier in my driver side door or by the edge of the dash. It only rattles in the morning on the way to work. I don't know if its because its cooler or what but I have yet to really search it out. When I start to get annoyed it stops

He is correct. Passaenger seat belt rattles against the panel. It sounds like it's a door, but it's not - i checked it out.

I'm taking my baby for a oil change and ill have to make them fix my passenger seat, because it's not folding and the memory thingy is not working if I finally get it to fold. Besides that (*knocking on wood) no rattles and stuff.

You guys might wanna check your battery though ... it seems like there is not enough destilled water in mine, and this lill check shows red instead of green.

Good luck all.

I don't believe the passenger seat has a memory? I wish it did.

Oh, Scion called me and is working out with a closer dealer than where i got the car to get it fixed.

He also told me that the reason with the moonroof issues is that there "really isn't any real roof" to the car. lol.
