Default Rear quarter panel repair?

I hit a pole with my tC a few days ago! The damage is above the rear drivers side tire / right below the gas tank. Its a good sized dent and looks like the part is going to have to be replaced.

Problem is that when i look @ the part....it seems to be connected to every other aprt of the car! it flows through the door jamb (it is the door jamb) and then under the doors hinge. Its a big part and im worried that it might actually be a stressed member of the chassis.

I assume that a repair would require either

A. that the part be replaced / repainted

B. Bondo'd

C. Have the dented part cut out and a new peice welded in.

IDK much about body shop procedures but assume that a replacement would be the most professional/expensive thing to do.

What would a good body shop (i.e. dealer) do to fix this and an ideas how much it might cost?

Yep, that chunk runs all the way to your front window. If it's uniformally mashed they will push it out as best possible and fill the remaining area, sand it all smooth and repaint it. They wan't to do that to my door ding. Screw that, i'm not paying $500 deductible for a freakin door ding. I'm having painless dent repair push it out as best they can and leave it. Cost = $100. It really sucks though. Some SOB dented my 4 day old car.
