Agreed, if you're using an OEM Honda element/s2k antenna, then you should NOT suffer at all reception-wise. If you are, check your antenna install or whether you got some type of "fake" Honda antenna.
Its a Honda S2000 antenna, it came from the dealership (With the base no less). Installed it the only way that you can install an antenna. Receptions just not all that great.

Hey, This is Ryan over at Perrin Performance. We would like to offer the Scion community a chance to try our antenna. We would like it if some users could post what they think of the antenna and reception. If your interested send me a message.

Im checking ebay for the S2K antennas... most of the labels say BMW, Honda, Nissan.. I'm assuming they'd still fit my tc? anything specific i should look for or ask about?

Default S2K Installation

I've searched the net and this site, but can't seem to find instructions on installing the S2K or any other after market antenna on a tC. Is it hard? Does anyone have step by steps they can send me?

Thanks.

step 1. screw old oem antenna off
step 2. screw new a/m antenna on

if you're worried about it getting stolen: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...light=locktite

LOL - wow....

I read somewhere about having to install a new base, etc. If this is the way I'm going to start my mods then I'm probably in big trouble! rofl

Thanks.

Nope! Just like what Aik said, just unscrew the stock one, then screw on the new one. I put Blue loctite on mine and tightened it with tools to prevent theft. Before you glue it on make sure and test the reception first (if you care). My reception improved a bunch, I can listen to stations I never knew I had!

I have the Honda s2000 / Element antenna.

It's a few dollars more than the cheap quality, horrible reception aluminum antennas you can find on eBay, and probably cheaper than one of those with shipping if you just swing by a Honda dealership and pick one up.

I'm extremely happy with my S2k antenna, I get better reception over stock, and I won't go back!

Cool. I'll pick one up tomorrow. Thanks again for the help and the loctite suggestion. I'll definitely do that.

So when you guys went into Honda and asked for the antenna do they have them in stock or do you have to wait? Also how much for the antenna through the dealership? And does it really matter that it is a 2004 antenna? Thanks

Here is what happened:

1. Went into the Honda dealership (Cush Honda in Mission George for those who is in San Diego)
2. Asked for s2000 antenna.
3. The guy handed me one, I asked what year is it for, he said it works for all year s2000.
4. Paid ~$28 for s2000 antenna.
5. Went home.
6. Un-screw old antenna by turning counter clockwise.
7. Screw s2000 antenna on by turning clockwise.
8. Get normal reception and laugh at other tCs' pitiful looking antenna .

anything shorter than the S2000 antenna will only give you a worser signal. When I installed my antenna a day or two ago I noticed no change.
