Default Is the Scion tC similar to the Camry??

I'm all new to this forum

So are the cars alike? (and I'm only talking about the Camry Standard and SE)

They both have 2.4-liter DOHC,16-valve VVT-i,4-cylinder

Camry- 4-channel 3-sensor Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)

tC-----Power-assisted 4-wheel disk with Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS)

Both have
Horsepower 160 hp @ 5,700 rpm
Torque 163 lb.-ft. @ 4,000 rpm

MPG
Camry - 24/33
tC - 22/29

I'm debating whether I should get the tC or Solara.....I'ma get one of them in the end of this month!!!

What you guys think??? Are they pretty much the same quality??? Help me out!

Here's a link to a Solara forum:

http://www.zer0.info/solaraguy/

The 4-bangers on both the Solara and tC are the same engine. The Solara is bigger and has a big butt which is good in this case. However, the 4-cyl Solara is bigger, and with the same engine, is probably slower than the tC. tC is more practical since it is a liftback but not as plentiful in interior space as the solara.

Never driven one, but from what I heard the tC is sport tuned while the 4-Banger Solara SE is supposed to be sport tuned but probably not as rough. But test drive both. The SE 4Solara starts @$21K for the manual.

The tC is made in the same plant as the Prius in Japan. People are having issues with the panaromic moonroof (noise issues).

I've driven both. The solara is a boat compaired to the tC. Its more of a cushy ride kinda floats about. The tC on the other hand...I loved the way it handled. But test drive them both. Some people like it, some dont.

For the money, the tC is a much better deal IMO. The camry might be cheaper for insurance, but I honestly like everything about the tC better than the solara.....

I have test driven both the Solara and the tC. I liked how the tC handled better, but I like the interior (room and quality) of the Solara more. If you get the very basic 4 cylinder Solara, it will cost you close to what the tC costs. The only problem is I think they stopped making the basic Solaras and only have the sport models now, which cost more.

Well of course, Camry has the smoothest ride I've ever experienced..

Don't the warranty cover for that stuff? Just complain..haha
