Default Second time to start up!

Well today after baseball, i got in my car and started up my car, except this time, it didint start up for the first time! I was like WTH!!! so i did it again, got a good shake and it started up. I know it doesnt sound like a big deal, but this is a car with just 3000 miles on it, should it be taking two startups to get it going? it was in 65 degree temp so i doubt that was a factor

did you wait for the needles to do their "Sweep"? and then try to start it? i am starting to wonder with people saying this if there isn't a ground problem or battery problem on some tc's.. and no it shouldn't take two trys to start up the car..

i just got my tc and had a similar problem. we should keep this well logged in case there is a more serious problem underlying this that scion needs to take care of.

This happened to me several times today. It sucks when you turn the key and the thing doesn't start!

I wonder what's wrong. Maybe something's interfering with the transponder chip.

it happened to me twice, i have 700 miles. i thought it was the transponder, but the second time it happened, i had no keychains, it was just the key by itself. i guess it's because i didn't wait for the needles to sweep....

this has happened to me in the past a couple times also, i talked to scion service about this and they said it had to do with the key and something interfering with it. but i doubt that.

OK, I finally broke out the manual and read up on starting the car.

The clutch must be FULLY (read: all the way to the floor board) depressed when starting the car. I'm kinda short so I really gotta get my leg down in there.

I bought my tc a week ago and every morning it took two tries to start it. So the past two mornings I let the needles bounce and held the key to start a fraction of a second longer. Now it starts on the first try every time. This is my first Japanense car and I'am really impressed with the quility and performance of it. I traded my 01 Dodge Intrepid R/T in for it. Handles better than the Dodge and the power seems only a little less than the R/T.
