Sorry I was reading it from my manual
That doesn't count as another airbag then. So far as I can tell, the tC has more because it has front, side and side curtain airbags and the knee airbag. That's one more than the Civic has.

No, the tC has front, side curtain and knee airbag. That's what scion.com says unless they're wrong and wrote something else in the owner's manual.

Owner's manual lists all three. Though about the 'side' airbag it does say 'on some models' but I look at those the way most dealers look at power window 'options' now....just try and find a car on a dealer's lot that has power windows as an option yet it isn't on the car.

Most dealers add that stuff just to mark up the price, same as that ___ lil pinstripe thing for the Civics. When I bought my Civic, I specifically told them not to put that stripe on because I wasn't paying $140 for some stupid pinstripe I didn't even want on the car.

I know that the Toyota site lists power windows as an option for the Corolla....but when I was looking at Corollas...there wasn't a single car on the lot that didn't already have power windows on it. It's just one of those things they do.

LOL
because there are different trims.
tC doesn't have frontal side airbags which deploy from the seats. You then have knee airbags for that though. Frontal Side airbags are different than side curtain airbags.
Take a look at the Civic DX since you're familiar to civics. They come without power windows. Same as for the base corolla. You have the CE, S and LE

You're missing my point. Walk onto a Toyota lot and tell them you want one with no power windows. They will tell you the same thing every time "I'll have to see if I can order one without power."

Sure the base trim says no power...but as I was told by a dealer once, "they all order the power package when the dealer orders the cars from the manufacturer because it's how the dealer makes the money."

In fact, I think it was back when I bought a my first brand new car....power windows and locks were 'optional' but when I specified that I wanted power....he said "they all have power windows and locks, we don't order any without."

Yes but your car still doesn't have frontal side airbags. That's the main point.
Go to scion.com and check the XD
go to features and spec then click on standard features and then go to the safety option and that car specifies the "side AND side curtain airbags"

I don't have to use the site. I have the manual three feet from me and I have read it twice now. It's not the "all Scion manual," it's the "Scion tC manual."

So Scion website says one thing and the owner's manual says another. Weird indeed

Well, as I pointed out, it's an 'option' but I believe it's an option that they typically don't give you an option on.

So you pay more for it no matter what? geez that's as fudged as a BMW that the base has nothing but once you add options, the price doubles LOL

^^Dude just go to a toyota dealeship and look at tc. I still don't have time to make a list. I'm going to make a quick short list then go back to work. You said the tC doesn't have this stuff below but guess what we do. Most cars that are made in this current time come with this stuff. I might make another list later but I have to work you know what I'm not going to make another list just go to a dealership. This TC VS SI crap is getting old

The tC does have
Driver's and Front Passenger's Seat Belt Reminder Standard
Wheels 17" Alloys standard
AM/FM/CD Premium Audio System Standard
XM® Satellite ready standard.
MP3/Windows Media® Audio (WMA) Playback Capability Standard
MP3/Auxiliary Input Jack Standard
Welcome Screen/CD Text Display Capability Standard
the tc has (ASL)=(SVC)
Air Conditioning with Air-Filtration System Standard
Tire Pressure Monitor Indicator Standard
Exterior Temperature Indicator Standard
Low-Fuel and Low-Oil Pressure Indicators Standard
ETC...... and Blah blah blah.......LOL

Not really, I never noticed a dramatic price difference.

ill believe this time slip if he can pull it off at least twice in a row, seriously doubt that SI was stock, and his reaction time was close to perfect, and we all know, launch makes the 1/4 mile run, wouldnt be surprised if he got a jump start!!

ill also bet he was using high octane gasoline!!

They do. There is a tag on the front seats that says something to the extent of "Side Airbag." I'd go get a picture, but I don't have a tC anymore.

Every tC from 2005 has had the same features. The stereo and method of oil delivery in the engine changed in '07, and quite a few things changed for '08, such as head/taillights, grills, new interior accents, subwoofer and side curtain airbags standard, and a few other things.

stereo for your car is 160watts though but I'll go check on my buddy's 08 tc over the weekend.
