There were a lot of drive by shootings IN the actual complex! and my car got messed with a lot.), but anyways, i'm out of there now, living in Avondale which is really nice! Renting a 3 br/2 bath/2 car garage for $814.88 a month. Nice neighborhood too. I really recommend Phoenix.

shoot out your resume to places now. the idea is to have a job before you move down - it'd be a lot better and easier and you wouldn't have to be as worried about crashing with relatives. they'll give you good advice on where to live, where not to live.

when my bf moved down here, he didn't have a job and got one within a month. what's your area?

yeah that sounds like a good plan, whats my area of what?
area... field... career... what do you do?
oh ok, i work for IBM, i head up their Kiosk/OEM/POS exec sale dept.
doing budgetary quotes for companies and sourcing what works best for their application from us hardware wise. Then eventually sell it to them and bank commission of it as well.

So i guess Exec sales would be my fortay

Denver is really nice, cheap and overall a pretty safe city. Most who visit here seem to like it. The only downfall is the winters.

Other than that Pacific NW esp. Seattle like others have mentioned...

i work with a guy originally from Denver and he talks about it all the time. I dont want to deal with the winters and snow anymore. I can tolerate some coldness, but no 6" of snow everyday for 5 months

It aint an apartment its a closet. its 450 sq ft average in the city for that lil rent. A townhome should not be that much. You can buy a 4bdrm house in FL for that and in a good area. Oh and they sell condos for more than that and they are just apartments. A condo should be almost the size of a townhouse or bigger not a 800-900sq ft place. Sorry but I hate it hear i want to go back east but i have to transfer to cali first. Im not sure where i hate more seattle or cali. East Coast specifically FL FTMFW!!
No need to attack.

Seattle is a phenominal city in my opinion. Sorry you don't like it.

Oh, and to set the record straight, it often gets into the 70s at the ocean beaches, my $800 apartment was 700 square feet and in a great neighborhood, and you have no basis to rip on the cost of my townhouse as you have no idea what neighborhood it's in, what size it is, etc. that led to the cost. Oh, and do a little research before making baseless claims. The average home price in the bay area in 2007 was $777,300. The average price in Seattle was $377,500. Not really a close second.

Sorry you feel the way you do about Seattle. Life is too short to be somewhere you don't like. Me? I'll stay here, where I'm happiest.

Ok well I wasnt attacking i was just voicing my opinion on seattle. I wasnt ripping you about what you paid im just saying the prices and size of places out here is unreasonable. Yea id say you got a great deal far and few between in my book out hear. And it really depends on where you go in seattle for a place. That price of average houses in seattle sounds low to me from my experience but. I just hate it here so sorry if i came off rude to you man. Yea some people like it i dont see why from my experiences. But to each his own. Well it isnt exactly my choice being in the service. But again sorry for sounding rude man.

Eric-tc you want flat roads and warm weather im telling you Tampa, FL man. But good luck wherever you may end up.

Peace. Thanks for the reply. I can understand and respect your opinion. I know Seattle (just like anyplace) isn't for everyone. I have lived many places and found this to be my favorite.

What they all said, Hawaii is probably the most expensive. Don't give up on Cali, I spent 5 months in San Diego, it is probably one of the best places to live minus housing costs. Other than rent, cost of living isn't much more than here in Maryland. San Diego is really 60-80 year round, 20 minutes from Mexico, two hours from skiing, is a relatively new and pretty clean city, and has a ton to do local and is within driving distance of LA. Keep in mind in Florida it gets humid as a **** and there's hurricanes. If you're looking down south, try Atlanta or Savannah, depending if you want big city or smaller town feel. Not sure about the fly-over states, haven't been there enough to notice. Just don't go to Baltimore or Philly, they seem even worse than Jersey (sorry BMore peeps). Didn't see too much of Seattle, but just north on Whidby Island it's very nice, though quiet. Good if you like whale watching.

But my friend moved to phoenix and he loves it. He from Sacramento also then moved to new Orleans then to phoenix. But after school I'm out this country going to Europe. .

haha yeah broskie, aside form the outrageous cost of living ( a one-two bedroom apt goes for like 1300-1400 a month where i live in nj) and the chicks that wont even talk to you unless you make 100 g's a yr and drive a porsche, your royally F'D.
So im just done with all of it for real.

I threw around the cali idea, cause i could just drive out.

That is probably a bit of exaggeration but I mean if you're 25 and out of college I hope your making 50-60k a year considering the difference up north and down south. Like down south if you make 35-40k that is comparable to 50-60k there. You're probably going to the wrong clubs also
But isnt it super expensive out there too?
