Spare tire, what spare tire? When I looked all I found was this round cone shaped black thing that is screwed down to some sort of box.

Maybe that is what made my car so loud inside, measured at 138.4 db average on music for two minutes straight.

My car is louder...and I can ____ farther tha you too. Nya nya, nya nya nya. Don't you think that the goal of having a big audio system makes the goal of having a fast car harder?

Back on topic, it sounds like the theory that the spare is supposed to be ugly so you're motivated to take if off has some merit.

not enough room to fit a stock wheel (17") in that space, let a 19" wheel that i have. i thought of that when i first bought the car, and looked at the place the spare is... no room. you could possibably cut that foam or take it out, and modify the floor board.... but too much to go through. ill just paint it.... or have it custom painted/graphic, trick it our and possibably integrate it to my sound system... dunno... but this thread got my thinkin!
Buahaha that is hilarious!

"hey guys check out my spare it goes well with my system!"

"WHAT THE HELL?!? (GHETTO)"

just leave it how it is or if you're so concern about how you look (like anyone cares anyways) call a tow truck and call it a day.

lowrightor,
Sorry you are having such a bad day buddy. Of course it makes it harder, why we do such things here. Every mod that can be done has been done in one way or another to just about every car ever modded, we choose to do something others do not, make it truely fast in all aspects and not just louder, we compete in sound quality comps and plan to take this car to world finals and drive it there I was just having some fun;)

Back on topic, the spare tire color is makes me about barf, dang nasty looking thing, exactly why it is painted that color.

Anybody wanting to run a full set can have mine for the cost of shipping if interested.

JUST AN FYI: when our cars are imported from Japan, they come with half a tank of gas and NO SPARE TIRE, the spare tires are dropped in it in the US (they do this to reduce weight on the ship so they can get a couple more cars on) so maybe these special edition spares depend on which dock our batches of cars were docked...

i got mine in houston, from sterling mccall toyota, which gets cars from Gulf States Toyota, i forgot the dock, but i think i can look it up when i get home.....

Sorry, your "fun" sounded like out-of-place bragging. The project sounds cool when I read your prolfile. My old Civic, which I just sold, had two sealed Infinity Kappa Perfect 10" subs and components and last years Eclipse 5454 HU so I'm all for sound quality. The tC is a bit portly to start so I'm sure you're planning to generate enough power to offset that plus the weight of the stereo.

The spare tire isn't an issue when you have a ship like this. Plus, there are bigger vehicles on the market that are shipped and fill these guys to capacity. Maybe they don't have spare tires in Japan and that's why they don't ship them, or the fact that they have to import the rubber for tires and so they are more expensive in Japan?

TurboMe. If i do decide to do something with my spare incorporated with my sound system (space will still be able to be used), how is that funny? I can thnk of a very unique and good looing why to create a amp rack/box for my sound system. Too quick to judge.... not creative enough.... i guess you dont get out much to see different audio set ups... but oh well... if you think its funny... more power to you.

I saw the color and lmao! Soon after that I removed it, got a can of fix a flat and a 20 dollar air compressor for my tires and put it in it's place. I wouldn't be caught dead with that thing on my car!

We run without a spare but do not like fix a flat in our tires so carry a plug repair kit and compressor but looking for a can of compressed air instead, less weight than a compressor
