Spoiled brats
Dude, you need to chill or something. I work hard as well, ive got one job, and im going to get anotther job. I am far from a spoiler brat, This is something that me and my family have been talking about for a long time. We were just going to wait until i had some money ready before we made the purchuse. they just surprised me with a gift. I STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR ALOT OF IT. Not everyone is the same, it is unfair to pill in me and other people who are fortunate enough to have a car given to them as a gift, into a group of kids who are given whatever they want but still want more. I appreciate this car more then anything that i have ever owned, because i know that my family cared enough about me to sacrafice to buy me a car. That is a great feeling i think. I know someone who was just handed a brand new eclipse. totally runs it into the ground, already had an acciedent, and he doesnt care cuz his dad will buy him a new one thats prolly better. Those are the kind of people you should be raggin on. Not people like pillage, and sportmaned and anyone else who isnt like that.
suck on your own tit if your going to have an attitude like that. Geez....

if they appriciate the fact that they have it pretty good then its okay, i guess.
the only thing I got handed to me was my 1st car, a 95 chevy S-10, but it was left to me in my grandmother's will....
I worked for all that I have, and what I have is pretty good. people I know have mistaken me for one of those guys that get stuff handed to them, when they figure out that i worked for all that I have - the looks on their faces!
<-- i put in my birthday, but thats not how old i am!!

I'm 16 and I worked hard to get my car. It was not given to me as a present, it was given to me for my hard effort in school having a 4.5gpa and a rank of 33 out of 1200 students. Not all of us are spoiled. I drove a ____ty ___ 91 V6 Camry for 6 months before I got my tC and I appreciate it alot. I know what my parents do for me, it's not like i'm oblivious to it. I am very thankful that I have great parents that trust me with a brand new car.
my 2 cents is that I have personally observed the neighbor girls get brand new cars. One car was totalled within 4 months and the other car has been in 4 accidents in a year and 1/2. We agree with all4degame that if our daughter kept her grades up A's and B's, and is a good kid, she would get the '89 Honda, (her age @ 16) and I would get the xB. We are getting the xB this weekend, and she could not be more excited to get (any) car. p.s. she knows if she wrecks it, or gets tickets, she is done.
well i am 17 and the tC is already my 2nd car. my first car was a POS ford mustang. That was a christmas present from my parents, and even though i appreciated it, i hated the car. So a year later, my dad sold it for me for $6k and her put another $3k and put a downpayment on a tC for me. But I pay for the rest. I have a job and work hard for my money so I am not spoiled or anything. My friend got a 2003 mercedes c240 for his FIRST car. and didnt even pay a dime for it. Now that is what I call spoiled. He has a 1.3GPA in school, doesnt have a job, and his family aint even rich.
just cause we are young and have a brand new car doesnt mean we are all spoiled. yeah, some are, but some of us, like me, actually work and make monthly payments.

No doubt some of you here take your earnings for granted though... Whether any of you are believers or not I thank God each and every day I get in my car and go to work or play. Ive prayed long and hard for this car and never again will I take my blessings for granted and make fun of those who are less fortunate. I have been in their shoes and envy does terrible things to a person. I am not better than any of you and none of you are better than me but I know for sure that there are many ungrateful people here and I am certainly not among them. God bless and much love and even MORE blessings to those who might take offense to my post.
I think its stupid for someone to be just given a car but hey to there their own. im 18 and im paying off my tC but just last year i graduated with kids that had bmw's hummers, jaguars etc. that their parents had given them because they were doctors or lawyers and could afford it but im not as fortunate so ill keep on paying on my car. maybe ill just win the lottery!

i think we're all here because we like Scion cars. who cares how someone got their cars? i've seen people come in to buy scion from the both ends of the sticks but what they have in common is that they both love the car @ the end. we all have a scion so let's help each other to make the best of your own scion.
The best way to start is with a beater! I was given a pretty nice car for my first and I took that for granted. It got totalled too but that had nothing to do with racing, driving fast, OR taking it for granted. It was the suns fault!!! lol Im just saying that NO teen on earth deserves a brand new car for their first because that is spoiling them and they will probably end up wrecking it and driving it irresponsibly. Sorry these discussions get me pretty heated. Its that envy coming back... And no this discussion cant be ended with the "we all love the same car" bandage. I would much rather hang out with people who have worked hard for their car than some teen who got it for their birthday especially if its their first car.
a bit of jealousy eh?
The tC is my third car. First car was a beat. (15-17) Parents bought me a 350z as a grad. present. I was very thankful. Had it for less than a year. Problems came up with it constantly. Nissan's sucks. I thought y not sell it? and get a cheaper car. I did that and gave the extra money back to my parents.
you dont know everyone's story so u can stfu :D

Nah Im not jealous because I know in the VERY end of ALL things I will be the one envied by those who now take their blessings for granted. Thats cool that you gave the money back but you didnt have to tell me to shut the f*ck up.
Threads like this remind me how easy most people's lives are these days.
My ride when I was 16 was a bicycle.
When I was 18 I got my first car, a 12 year old ford F150 pickup that had 120,000 miles on it for $650, which was all I could afford (minimum wage was $3.35 then, you do the math). When I was 20 it got wrecked by a drunk driver (not me) and I used the insurance money to buy an old mustang. The mustang was a fun car in its own right, but reliable transportation it was not. It sat immobile for months at a time.
I finished college (which I paid over half the cost of myself) and when I was 27 I bought a used economy car (ford escort to be specific) because I was going to start attending graduate school (also paid for 100% out of my own pocket) at a school that was about 30 miles away from where I was working a full-time job (while taking night classes in grad school).
After grad school, I was finally able to get a real job and at the age of 33 I finally caught up with what these 16 year olds are starting out life with, by buying my first ever new car, a Scion tC.
I don't hold a grudge against these people for having an easy life, but I'd sure like them to acknowledge that they've got it easier than some us.
I've had to work my butt off for every little thing I've got.

i didnt get my tC as a birthday present but as a graduation present. I'm 17 and I jus graduated high school and my parents finally thought i needed a car for college. Everyday i had to wait after school even on my senior year for my dad to pick me up which is an hour and a half wait. sometimes i get ____ed seeing these underclassman driving before me because my parents wouldnt let me get my license till late senior year, but what can i do. i get tired of waiting and doing homework, but i guess it paid off.
You deserved it buddy! All those who have to go through sh*t first to reach their goals are my kind of people and I have much respect for them. This will sound sad to a lot of you but I am living my dream right now. With my tC I am set for life, I dont need another better car this one will keep me happy forever as long as its with me forever.
